...and that just makes real teamplayers go nuts, take for example the guy in your signature picture. He can't stand A-10s without spotters.

A-10 without spotters are like weapon systems without weapon systems.

Re: A10's without spotters...are like...

I'm not a huge fan of flying. I'd rather be on the ground where the REAL action is ...and when a tank rolls up, know I can aim at him, click my mouse, and him be gone in 20 seconds. It's empowering. Especially when I consider that not only can I choose the fate of enemy tanks, but also enemy infantry with my troops with itchy trigger fingers just waiting for my order to attack......

That's why PR beats out every other game and/or mod out there.

I love CAS spotting... but I hate it when commanders are slow on accepting CAS markers or when air support is too inexperienced and doesn't know how to use the assets. Kashan Desert also has this annoying bug where hilltops disappear at a certain distance... making you visible for every tank on the map and getting you killed as soon as you try lasing them .

TG is still the best place though... try flying on any other server and you 'll end up crashing into tanks just to have some fun.

I dunno, I just wanted to say that every A-10 ever built flew right over my childhood home as it left the factory. Nearly every day as I grew up A-10's were over my house... it was pretty cool.

A-10's are as much as part of my past as they are part of a spotter's present in PR.

Warthog's rule the battlefield !
You don't happen to live in Maryland do you? I live right near Martins Air Force Base and they used to fly over here 24/7. Fun stuff man

And Warehouse I agree with you. Spotters are just as crucial as the pilots themselves. And most importantly, communication is what counts. I remember the other night we were trying to teach the commander how to laser the targets he was telling us were right in front of him haha.

I put my money where my mouth is, and last night had THE most fun I've ever had on Kashan...running around in the hills as a spec ops while 4 expert pilots dominated the skies.
Highlight of the day was getting spotted by a MEC transport helo which tried to land in the hills near my postion to drop troops to kill me. 3 guys inside shooting at me and throwing grenade, with me running as fast as I can to hide. Out of absolute luck, an A10 was in my area on a different bombing run, and was able to redirect at the very last second to a desparation laser designation that I was able to fix on the moving helicopter...and BOOOM!...laser guided bomb hits the chopper in mid-air and saves my bacon! coolest thing I've ever seen in PRM!

Damn Warehouse... must've felt a hammer in your chest... reminds me of this story:

Even though air-to-air kills had eluded the F-15Es, four Strike Eagles destroyed 18 Iraqi jets at Tallil air base using GBU-12s and CBU-87s, but on February 14, their luck changed as an F-15E scored its first and only air-to-air kill: a Mil Mi-24 Hind helicopter. The attack was in response to a request for help by US Special Forces, when five Iraqi helicopters were spotted. The lead F-15E of a formation of two (from the 335th) acquired a helicopter unloading Iraqi soldiers through the FLIR pod and released a GBU-10. After 30 seconds, the F-15E crew thought the bomb had missed its target and the pilot was about to use a Sidewinder missile instead, but suddenly the Hind helicopter was vaporized. The Special Forces team estimated that the Hind was roughly 800 feet over the ground when the 2000 lb bomb hit its target. But the air-to-air kill was not recognized until November 2, 2001. They tried to engage the other helicopters but an allied bombing started around the F-15E so the pilot decided to get out.

A-10's (or any other bomber in the game) working without spotters is most equitable to having sex without a condom/birth control:
You're already taking a risk as it is, and while luck may be on your side from time to time, the vast majority of the time something you dont want to happen is the most likely thing to happen.

If you dont get that statement, you're simply not old enough and you will in a few years. Either that or you're a monk.

Your right... I just hoped out the Kashan 64 map of this afternoon... for the first 40min / 1hours... anyone on the team was asking for CAS order.! For this reason, I kept flying over my main base since the Mig pilot (Who was that by the was? Pretty good pilot) killed many time me and my F16. I managed to escape alot of time too...

The point is... don't expect ME (and anyone who consider himself a good pilot) to go try to hunt on the map... if I don't see any CAS marker or CO precise attack marker... I will not go unless the sky is clear of enemy plane!

After almost one hour, iraqi muhajin started lasing targets for me (wasn't in my squad at the begining) and it was very effective... even with enemy jet up.

I wish people know how this work better... IRL the jets don't fly over and try to spot target (well... we may argue on this but most of the time Infantry call for airstrike)... and have the A10/FrogFoot an 25..30...40min spawn time (even more).
