Re: Need a bit of HELP here

ok bf2 complete collection installed and modded up to 1.41

Had a bit of a go at single player and it is very tasty, I liked it, learning how to die quite well so far.

Tried to register but got no where, I'll have to redo that tomorrow.

Got one problem???
The sound set-up is not seeing my inputs and I can not do the test from it.
My mike is ok in ArmA, CoD4 voip and on TS so anyone got any ideas. Again I'll have a look at the FAQ tomorrow too.

I just don't want to go re-inventing the wheel on these.

Will it be ok to continue to d/l and install the PR bits with the sound problem still there?

Regards

Barnaby

Re: Need a bit of HELP here

For the sound, thats an OS problem. You can install PR just fine, but you wont have any sound there either. Might want to work on getting that fixed first.

Re: Need a bit of HELP here

Ok PR loaded up [2 x downloads] so I thought I'd hit the streets and try the sp out.

I get the splash screen up but where it says choose a map I show none????
Any ideas; I did dl a file that said it contained maps to my desktop but when I opened it I'm not sure what it did.
Is there any where thing I can check to see what I have done wrong when I get in tonight.
As I say it's just the map bit that seems wonky the PR front screens load up ok.

Thanks

Re: Need a bit of HELP here

You need to install both of the downloaded files barnaby. then start PR from the desktop icon. Success.

Re: Need a bit of HELP here

Cheers Joe that's what I thought I did do???
I'll install the map one again.
I let it choose where it wanted to go is that right as I think I read something about the map location needs to be specific.

Thanks

Re: Need a bit of HELP here

Make sure you install the CORE files first.

Re: Need a bit of HELP here

Still not got PR to work???

Got BF2 installed up to 1.41 and I can get into single player and have a go.

I've installed PR_0708_core_setup.exe
& PR_0708_levels_setup.exe
But when I try and play I get to the load screens for SP but there are no maps showing for me to select from so I can not get any further.
Having a look on the forums it would appear that the levels has the maps in it but I get a no show.

Any ideas should I delete levels and dl it again?

Thanks

EDIT
Ok going into my program files to the EA folder and open up the PR file I can see all the maps are there so why does the game not see them ..... help?

Re: Need a bit of HELP here

Are you trying to play PR single player? If so, it will never work. PR doesn't have support for single player, it's an online only mod. the only thing you can do single player is load up the maps like on a LAN and walk through them or practice. There is no enemy AI or opponents.

Re: Need a bit of HELP here

C:\Programs\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr

C:\Programs\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\levels

Is the path like that?

Re: Need a bit of HELP here

There is a single-player version of PR, there is a sub-forum on reality.com about people playing it etc where you'd probably get help from others using the SP version... however as you know that whole forum is down from having been hacked. I briefly read about the installation process and thought it was too involved.

But honestly, if you want to play online Barnaby just jump online and play! As long as you've read the manual you'll be able to play ok.

Re: Need a bit of HELP here

Thanks guys
Sabre I have exactly that and if I open up the "leve folderl" I can see all the maps listed it's just that Sp doesn't show them in the opening screen so I can not play sp.

But from what El & Nero seem to be saying maybe I shouldn't see them.
I'll give the MP a try and see what happens.

Re: Need a bit of HELP here

Barnaby, why don't you hop on the server this evening (well, it's evening for me) and give things a whirl. There will be plenty of vets playing as it's a Friday night. In fact, if you get on TS and give me a heads up, then I will show you the ropes. Hope to see you on the battlefield.
