Please...

I was playing PR on the tactical gamer server when the worst thing happened. No-one was following orders, squad leaders called their squads teamwork inf whilst the squad leaders themselves (without officer's kits) did their on lonewolf thing.

So please, if you are new to the game, don't squad lead and please read the manual/ask for help because if you don't you simply ruin the game.

Also, please remember that humvees/vodniks/najings only have six seats and can just accompany an entire squad. So please don't get into the jeeps of other squads.

I know I may sound like a whiner but please take these things into consideration.

Re: Please...

Aye, I agree 100%. And before anyone else says it: remember to report those people, because teamwork is required on the TG server.

Re: Please...

It could have been a simple case of the origninal squadleaders dropping out of the game, leaving their squads (with names) in the care of others. Happens from time to time. I found myself today joining a squad called "TEAMWORK", and after a short while I was the only squadmember left - and lonegunning/driving an APC. Imagine that, the two such bad things coming together in such a way!

Either way, these things tend to sort themselves out since most people will agree on that it is no fun to play "alone" and/or without coordination.

Caesar counted on his veteran Gaul legions. Napoleon had his Old Guard. Queen Victoria was well served by the Cold Stream Guards. Tactical Gamer can always rely on the

Re: Please...

Also you got to remember somtimes the SL is not a supporting member and can get kicked in the midlle of the round and that can ruin the whole squad.

Re: Please...

IT is understandable if this that you post this, as I have in the past. Do not be offended when this thread is locked by an admin, as it is basically the same one we see every week.

Re: Please...

All of these issues have been brought up thousands of times and they will doubtless be brought up thosuands more. No matter what we do, there are always going to be people who are unfamiliar with the game, are trying to ruin it for others, or simply just dont care because they "do their own thing" with no regard to the team and/or rules.

The solution to this is simple: YOU.
If you see a problem, make a note of it and report it! It doesnt have to be right away either, but the sooner the better. I keep a pad of paper and a pen on my desk for this exact reason. If I see something going wrong and theres no admin about, I write it down, carry on with my game and make a report in the "Contact an Admin" forum when I get the chance (theres a big purple link in my signature that takes you right to the "new thread" screen in the forum I mentioned). You dont have to be a supporting member, wear the tg tags or even be a regular to make a report and the admin staff really appreciates the help.

So take the onus on yourself to help keep the server clean and report infractions that you see. Give as much detail as you can about the incident and the admin staff will get on it.

Re: Please...

Think Someone Did A Good Job? Nominate Them For a Ribbon!

How often do people actually do this? Just browsing through the list of members who have been rewarded ribbons I figure it would be more than that. I see a bunch of ribbons for BF2 does that include PR? Or should PR have it's own ribbon collection?

Example: I figure Capt.Rat and MWarren would have the Armor specialist ribbon by now for their expert Armor techniques in PR.

Re: Please...

As far as ribbons goes, heres how the process works: theres a team of guys who work on the ribbons. If you see someone doing an extraordinary job, write a nomination (green link in mah siggy). You can also write nominations for someone's long-term prowess in a field (like people who always play armor and consistently do a fantastic job). Once the nomination is received, it's reviewed by the ribbons team and they decide on who is deserving and award the ribbons accordingly. Not every nomination gets a ribbon, but no nomination is ever out of the running. If you nominate someone once and they dont get it, watch for them to do a great job later on and write another, the ribbons team takes these things into consideration too!

As for the PR specific ribbons, all BF2 ribbons apply to PR. Also, everyone who participates in a scrim (internal or external) is awarded a ribbon. There is a substantial backlog on the ribbons for scrims, but thats being worked on as we speak.

Yea Steiner, I tend to shy away from squads named "Voip", "Voip Eng.", "TW", "Teamwork".
From my experience, they always end up with a squad leader that doesn't talk or just disconnects in the middle of the round.

Re: Please...

I remember my first months on the server...soo many memories...so many repeat topics that you can find by "searching" the forums to get your answer. But hey, I am on the road and half drunk wishing for a really fast internet connection like home so I could put some lead in some heads....
