Weekly award winners

Congratulate your fellow TG'ers on their achievements!!!!

Please keep those nominations coming in - they've been really slow lately. It only takes a couple of minutes to recognize your peers for excellence on the battlefield!! See the link in my signature to write a nomination.

Distinguished Armor
  • |TG|ZaBoo
  • |TG-E1st|Superfast

Distinguished Armor

Game/Server:
PR

Place and Time:
TG vs PR Coalition Scrim, 2pm EDT 2-Feb-08

Nomination:
Zaboo and Superfast were our 2-man armor team in the squad. They filled our primary offensive role, and given our area of responsibility during the scrim were in constant battle, or on their way to battle.

They distinguished themselves early on in the game by efficiently reaching our AOR overlooking Village and then proceeding to eliminate enemies in and around Village. I supplied numerous "attack here" markers for them on spotted OpFor which they always quickly engaged and eliminated. Their efficiency at destroying enemy in the early phases of the fight are noteworthy, but the performance once we moved into the middle and end phase were truly exemplary.

Once the fight went west across the river they routinely engaged enemy armor and infantry, as well as providing support for our dismounted infantry. The fight was largely point blank in the hills and they engaged in a several pitched fights...winning more often than not. They kept their tank moving when they needed to, and held fast when we needed their support. For a long while they were our only armor presence in the area and were working to contend with enemy armor and troops.

In one particular tank duel in the hills our ground troops were caught relatively in the open when and enemy tank happened upon us. Zaboo & Superfast engaged, multiple rounds were fired, the two tanks were frantically moving around, smoke was deployed, and just when I thought they were destroyed they emerged to get the killing shot in on the enemy tank before the burned up themselves...I didn't do a whole lot of SL'ing during that fight...more gawking at the furious action! Had they lost that fight our whole squad would have then subsequently been wiped out.

Their efficacy was apparent early in the game by the kills they were wracking up, and later in the game by how their presence really allowed our squad to operate at all in the hills above Village. To my knowledge, based upon comments prior to the game, the two of them had never tanked together before, and they worked marvelously well as a team.

What?
Distinguished Engineer

Where?
TG vs Coalition of PR Clans

When?
February 2, 2008

How?
Elwenil was assigned as engineer in our squad during the scrimmage against the coalition of PR clans. His main duties were to support our IFV and also assist our other armor assets during the match. He performed these duties with excellence and without regard for his own self-preservation. Numerous times he put himself in harms way to repair our IFV and tanks from our team. Many times he perished while attempting to keep these vehicles in the fight and never once did he complain about his task for the match. He was responsible for destroying or disabling at least 2 enemy tanks during the match with C4, fearlessly approaching the enemy armor in an attempt to destroy it and save either his squad or other squads.

It is with great pride that I nominate Elwenil for Distinguished Engineer for his performance during this scrimmage. He went above and beyond the call of duty for this match and his actions exemplify the maturity and teamwork cherished at Tactical Gamer.

|TG| Caffeine - I would like to nominate |TG| Caffeine for the Spec ops ribbon on this same map of Kashan on the same day. Along with dirtboys assault tactics, Caffeine was able to provide the most amazing CAS i have ever seen. being the SL of the squad, he put himself in harms way numerous times to set laser designators to mark the targets for the A-10's and to insure that the F-16's were right behind the warthogs to insure their safety.

It was an amazing sight, I only wish I could get the BFR or that I wish i took screenshots. His communication was excellent, especially while I was in the squad taking North village, and as we got on the flag Tanks, AA, APCs, and support trucks spawned at north village. For a second i had doubts fearing that every MEC soldier was going to spawn in and overrun us, but before I could blink my eyes The roar of the A-10 swooped down with bombs, rockets and the mini gun blazing, and not 1, USMC member was hurt. While the Fighters and bombers took out the armor that spawned. I then turned around and saw Caffeine standing there, binoculars pinned on the spawned Armor Column. It was a sight to see.

This was the best round of Kashan I had ever witnessed, and it was the fastest, for that map, the USMC had complete control over the MEC, I have never witnessed Teamwork Coordination during a regular map on a regular given day. It was amazing. And I hope to experience it again.

How:
eGoatBoy shoudl be recognized for his outstanding performance as a Squaldleader during the TG vs PR Coalition Forces Scrim. It was under eGoatBoy's leadership that the Interdiction squad held of several assaults from the OPFOR. Due to eGoatBoy's leadership and direction his squad performed beyond expectations. eGoatboy's squad was outmatched and outnumbered on several occasions and never wavered in their mission responsibilities. eGoatboy was tasked with keeping alive INF, Armor, and Mobile AA and performed admirably and did so without medical support. Due to his constant communication with his squad and his ability to adpapt, change, and overcome drastic obstacles, eGoatBoy's squad was able to succeed on the battlefield.

Game/Server: BF2 PR

Place and Time: Battle for Qinling, February 2, 2008

Nomination:

I would like to nominate the above squad leaders from the scrim vs. the PR Coalition of Clans. They each accomplished incredible feats using their primary kits, but as CO I would like to recognize their impact to the team as squad leaders. Their leadership started weeks before the scrim when they studied the battle plan, added input, briefed their squad mates, and set up practices for their squad.

In-game, these individuals performed to a tee. They implemented the STRAT Plan, relayed information, coordinated close air support, used our assets to destroy enemy assets, attacked flags and defended flags. In addition, their ability to quickly communicate to their squad mates, other squad leaders, and the CO ensured that the entire team had one heartbeat.

The leadership that these individuals displayed was second-to-none and I am honored to nominate each of them for the Distinguished Squad Leader ribbon.

Distinguished Commander
  • |TG-6th|DirtBoy (Class 2)

Quote:
The Date was Jan 26th sometime in the mid-late afternoon, The Map was Kashan.

Dirtboy Deserves the distinguished Assault Specialist for his superb job commanding for that round of Kashan. I have never in my entire experience of PR see such a fluid assault on Kashan. Dirtboy took command with about 30 seconds left in the idle time period and got the ball rolling. We were on the USMC side, and immediately setup a plan of attack.

It was executed with perfect communication and with an assault game plan that left the MEC in the dust. I was in the main building squad and we setup a quick firebase along the NE wall of Kashan, and quickly moved in to the north bunker, took the flag, moved in, setup another FB, moved down to the south bunker, took that flag and setup a bunker. Before long, there were 2 bunkers and 2 fb's within distance of one another, so if a flag was taken by the MEC at either North or South bunker, it was a no sweat counter-attack.

Dirtboy also coordinated precision Air Attacks with the help of the USAF Squad led by Caffeine ( he deserves an award but i will go into it after my nomination for dirt.) Armor was also given the right intel at the right time, to ensure that no friendlies were shot at, and that the AA was able to obliterate any attempt on our ground forces.

After securing the bunkers, we destroyed the fsouth bunker, emplacement and Dirtboy at that time moved squad to south and north village. I was in the squad that led the attack at north village, and suprisingly met no resistance. We captured the flag, Setup a bunker and thus starting pushing forward.

This map, a full 64 player map of kashan was over in under an hour....I believe it was around 45mins. I have never seen such fludity between squads. It was an amazing sight to be apart of, Dirtboy's assault tactics were right on, and his coordination was quick, and easy. There were no errors made, and from the beginning the USMC was on the assault and anihilating everything in their path thru the commanding of dirtboy.

Distinguished Tactician

Where?
TG vs Coalition of PR Clans

When?
February 2, 2008

How?
I am nominating AFSoccer for both the Distinguished Tactician and the Distinguished Commander badges.

Distinguished Tactician: Once again, AFSoccer has shown that he is probably one of the most skilled tacticians that we have in the TG community. He developed a flawless battle plan for our team in the scrimmage against the coalition of PR clans. He provided the squad leaders with an 11 page document outlining our overall strategy, squad assignments, vehicle assignments and individual squad strategies. His thoroughness in this plan was incredible and more importantly, the completeness of this plan left very little question as to what each squad was to accomplish and when. It is because of this complete plan and his diligence that we were able to dominate the battlefield and the outcome of this match was never in doubt.
Due to his hard work, thorough attention to detail and supreme knowledge of the battlefield, AFSoccer has definitely earned this recognition. It is with great pleasure that I nominate AFSoccer for Distinguished Tactician for his performance prior to this scrimmage and the success we enjoyed as a team when his plan was implemented.

Re: Weekly award winners

Congratulations guys, well deserved.

And also, thanks to everyone for my nomination. The PR scrim vs the Coalition of Clans was an awesome match and TG dominated the field because of our true team players and our excellent coordination. Just check out the AAR on the match for details. I had mixed feelings about the ribbon system, but now having been nominated, being reconized by your peers is a rather strange and very good feeling. Thanks TG, I really appreciate it.

Wow, thanks guys! And congratulations to everyone else too. I really appreciate this award because tanking isn't really my thing, i'm an infantry guy. To get this kind of recognition really means something to me.

Also special thanks to crawlingeye for teaching me the "Way of the tank" prior to the scrim.
