Re: Rally Points: Wanted or Unwanted

This will change the gameplay as people here say, and the devs will need to change other elements of the game to compensate. If not, the game will be moving towards a more realistic sim like ARMA and many in here won't find it fun anymore i'll bet.

Re: Rally Points: Wanted or Unwanted

I would hate it if rallies were gone. Sure it can make it harder to take CPs due to respawning enemies, but it can also make for some epic battles. Eg. Yesterday I played on Assault on Mestia and bacause of rally points it made defending the East tower far more intense and fun. Imagine having a squad attack, you kill them, then waiting 5-10 minutes for another 30-60 second skirmish. It would make the game tedious and boring (Well at least for me).

wanted........i don't like walking 15miles, or driving and dying and then have to start from the beginning again. If it's removed you prob wont see me playing pr much

Think kashan is long? think of it without rp's.

I thought you're an ARMA fanboy now.

All the 6th are...

However, in ARMA, you can usually count on having a ride.

Re: Rally Points: Wanted or Unwanted

ugh....necropost...
and no, not all of the 6th are ArmA fanboys. I hate the game. I think it's a buggy, unpolished piece of donkey crap that should have been released after the company that made it did some PROPER alpha/beta testing so that the consumer actually got a good game instead of having a large square box full of feces sold to them.

Re: Rally Points: Wanted or Unwanted

My two cents.....

Dont ever remove RP's... I bought ARMA the other day and i thinks its a piece of crap, If RP's were removed my guess is their would be a massive exodous from PR.

Personally I believe that the Devs have gotten PR almost to the point of perfect. Granted their will always be room for improvment, but since I started playing games many years ago I have never loved one game so much as i dont even bother with any others any more.

We just need new maps's Please....................

Re: Rally Points: Wanted or Unwanted

I adamantly and vehemently oppose the remove of rally points and the addition of the old SL spawn point. I do not want APC or Truck spawns either. I do not want automatic CP Spawn points either.

I feel that Rally Points are a very important part of over all strategy and tactics.
I do not feel that removing Rally points of enemy attacking a CP is too hard.
If you are not able to do it on your own a second squad should be called in to help.
Having one squad defend and one squad search for rally points is a good teamwork strategy.

I support Rally points absolutely.

Re: Rally Points: Wanted or Unwanted

I'll make my post short and sweet in story form!

Grunt: They keep commin sir, what are we gonna do!? (or as they say in Dawn Of War "Boss we is gettin' shot up 'ere!" <-- sorry was just playing it )

SL: Well they must be reinforcing from somewhere, send some scouts forward!

Scouts: The enemy has an encampment setup about a click north of the objective sir!

SL: If this attack is to succeed we must cut off their reinforcements! Launch an attack against the camp.

Lessons from this little work of fiction:
-See the respawned squad as brand spanking new people (because that's the idea!)
-Use one or two people to look for rallies because the whole squad will get caught in a gunfight without any kind of advantage where two guys can do something sneaky deaky and get past easier than 6 guys sprinting through the jungle...
-See the rally as an encampment of sorts where soldiers gather and have a few cold ones before smashin', bashin', an shootin' stuff. The rally may look like a pile of bags, but it represents oh so much more...

I learned my final point in high school of all places somewhere in between lunchtime bong hour and evening half-a-twenty-something-oh-whatever-i-cant-count-anymore-pints. In every form of entertainment you have to maintain a temporary suspension of disbelief. While you could sit there and say "that's not at all realistic" when robocop takes an RPG ride, you could at the same time accept the fact that some things are just better hollywood style. Much like we could nitpick at PR all day, we must accept that until we have 128 man servers, we're gonna need stunt doubles Thank you english class!
