Weekly Award Winners

Please congratulate your fellow TG players on their achievements! Also, please remember it only takes a few minutes to nominate one of your teammates for a job well done (see the link in my signature). Keep those nominations coming in.

Distinguished Squad Leader - Class 1

  • Charity Case

Nomination:
Quote:
Who?
Charity Case

What?
Distinguished Squad Leader

Where?
Quai River Password Night

When?
Sunday 10 Feb 2008 - approx 7pm EST

How?
Charity Case formed a 'CC Defense' squad from the outset with the intention to hold and defend key positions. With the first 3 flags captured easily our squad settled into Govt Office and CC quickly set down assets and razor-wired key entry points.

It was clear that the opposing team were superior from the start dominating us with armor and well coordinated squadwork. However, CC coordinated our squad to hold off the armor and squads for over 30 mins. CC responded to location reports and quickly gave tactical commands to squaddies throughout a confusing and tough battle for Offices. Despite the tank trying to drive into the compound twice we were able to fend it off for much longer than would be reasonably expected. The enemy finally breached out defenses by leaping the wall from a vehicle and swarmed us with infantry.

As we went to defend Processing it changed over to enemy hands, but with more excellent tactics we recaptured the flag and set up a defensive perimeter. CC located then himself high up on a chimney stack and spotted/marked sporadic contacts throughout the rest of the game, while the main action proceeded at Mines. Although, it was obvious a few squadmembers were getting very bored and frustrated after the hour or so we defended Processing, CC boosted squad morale with pep talks about the overall importance of our squads role and continual info about the overall game progress. Needless to say our squad was top USMC squad and CC had the highest score on our team.

I have been a squadmember in Charity Case's squad on many games and he has a number of keen regulars who want to join his squads. CC is an excellent squad leader whose easy-going yet disciplined leadership inspires squadmembers to follow him. CC regularly passes on his excellent knowledge of PR to squadmembers reminding them about things such as best kit use, tactics and concealment. Furthermore, CC sets a fine example as a TG member appropriately reminding squadmembers of server rules and game fairness.

Air Calvary Specialist - Class 1

  • SamHoy

Nomination:
Quote:
Award Recommendation: Air Calvary

Game: BF2 PR

Nominee: Sam Hoy

Period Covered: 9 Feb 2008

Sam Hoy consistently demonstrated his expertise while flying on Jabal Al-Burj and Qwai River last night. He has the uncanny ability to fly a helicopter that is on par with or surpasses other TG members that have this ribbon. I was in the Para Squad on both of these maps and he was our pilot of choice. We used him for Para drops, hot insertions and hot extractions. He excelled at all of them, getting in and out quickly and reliably.

Sometimes you know you're playing with a quality player yet it's hard to get a definite example of how good they are. So yeah, about time.

Re: Weekly Award Winners

Hey! Everyone who is surprised Charity didn't get one earlier...try writing a nomination out if you think he deserves the award! Don't wait for someone else to do it!!! That goes for all of the other players who you think deserve a ribbon - the only way they get one is for someone to write the nomination.

Carpe Diem!
