Re: Need Advice: new GAMING MOUSE.

I like my G7 mouse. It's very comfy to use, the thumb button is great (I have mine set up for the screenshot button- I'm always too late with printscreen), and there's two easily swappable batteries (which last a fair while), with an indicator to show how much power is left or how sensitive it is. Not that I'm trying to sell you one, or anything...

You owe me ten pounds Mr Logitech...

I've been using my G7 with a black Ice Mat for 2 years without a problem. I imagine clear may be a problem, but black hasn't been.

True, I imagine that there could be some issues with a transparent Ice Mat. Mine is bright green and kind of frosty. I guess for that the laser needs a good reflecting surface.

Re: Need Advice: new GAMING MOUSE.

Thanks for all the advice guys. While those uberoptions look pretty sweet for the logitech mx1000, I think I want to wait for the Lachesis to get better firmware.

Maybe I'll just build my own...

Re: Need Advice: new GAMING MOUSE.

i have the Sidewinder mouse, after i bought a defective Habu, the habu seems very light and somehow cheap, the laser sensor was defect. So i got my money back and bought a Sidewinder.
I can say its quite a nice mouse, comes with lots of useful accesoires!

If you have big hands this mouse is for you.
(means if you liked the original XBox controller, my definition of big).

The mouse also has adjustable weights which make the mouse more controlable.

PEACE!

Amen brotha .

Love my G7 and G15. Batteries are no problem, you get two of em with a charger and they can be switched in less than 3 seconds (better take cover when you press the button on the bottom of your mouse ).

Choosing between the G5 and G7 wasn't that hard cause I simply couldn't go back to a wire. The G15 is wired but you don't need your keyboard to move around all the time + the screen and extra keys make it worth it.

Re: Need Advice: new GAMING MOUSE.

Don't buy MX1000, its a cordless mouse and there is nothing worse than running out of juce in the middle of a game, besides the mouse is gona feel heavy in your hands.

Too true. I love my G15 + G7. But not in that way.

That is the advantage of the G7, it comes with two batteries that can be swapped very quickly. You are playing on one, while the other charges so you always have a good battery on hand.

Re: Need Advice: new GAMING MOUSE.

On that note, I do find the battery packs don't last a very long time on a charge. Perhaps 3 or 4 hours of continuous play. But while you're using one, the other IS charging. To ensure you have one ready when the current pack dies make sure you're quick charging the battery packs (look at the bottom of the USB receiver dock/battery recharger, there will be a switch you can set to normal or SUPACHAWGE (sic))

Re: Need Advice: new GAMING MOUSE.

Hmmm, I get a bit more, say around 5-6 hours or more depending on what I am doing. Also, from my experience with NiCad and LiIon batteries in Airsoft and other things, the quick or "Boost Charge" tends to cut down on the overall life of the battery and the duration of an individual charge. LiIon batteries do not usually suffer from "memory" problems like NiCad batteries do though, so it's ok to take a battery off charge and use it before it's fully charged. In the odd chance that I end up staying on my PC pretty much all day, I have to swap batteries twice during the day and have never had them both be out of charge at any point while using the normal charge mode. Remember that quick charging causes heat and heat kills any rechargeable battery. Just my .02

Re: Need Advice: new GAMING MOUSE.

I know you are saying Lachesis.....but I like more buttons on my mouse. I like to be able to do all sorts of things without having to go to the keyboard. eg, my mouse does all of the following:

primary fire
secondary fire/zoom
weapon scroll
weapon 3/rifle/change ROF
squad talk
commander talk
map
change view
vloume up/down

I know I am missing more
