We have the same "smack-tardness" in our other games here at TG. Only way to "fix it" is to try to educate people or have them removed. So basically try to learn our beloved TG ways to the newcomers and if that fails contact an admin. Being kicked from the server can also help people find out why they were kicked from our awesome server.

SM's USE YOUR BATTLERECORDER ACCESS

I have had good luck getting admin response regarding SMACKTARDS when I have used the BFR to review the match... Taken some SS of said SMACKTARD in the act of doing whatever it is that they are not supposed to be doing, and then PM'ng an admin with all the data wrapped up in a nice little package for them. SS's of the Violator and a description of when and where. This as a great way for SM's to police their own server and give the ADMINS the data they need to meter out some justice.

I was thinking of the first few games of PR i played.. v 0.61 I was lost.. I didnt know or remember how stuff worked, the map was completely foreign to me.. I hadnt played for like a year and then it had been a brief run with v0.5.. Im sure that anyone that saw me was like.. WTF..
I think the TG server was spared alot of my NOOBNESS, but im sure there is a trail of bodies (FREINDLY) out there that I am responsible for.

If they can be educated, I say point them in the right direction.. if they cant or wont be educated, Bring Down the Hammer.

I second that!

The admins have had a lot of flack on the realitymod.com forum for being too strict, but as it has been said, this is our preferred style of play and I'm sure most of the TG PR community support the admin's enforcement of the server rules.

I wouldn't base any administration policies on that thread. There are some people who just want something to complain about and they don't want to take the effort to fix the situation because then they would have to find something else to complain about. Face it, we are at the top for a reason, it's a great server and the rules we have are one of the things that make it that way.

I would agree that there are too many idiots on the server as of late. If you think it is bad in the USA time zones, you should see it during the evenings in Europe. I have seen totally french and german speaking squads that don't care at all about TG concepts playing.

I wish I could say that I had time to do admin work to cover the Europen time slots (late night in the USA), but as Nardini pointed out, real life is kinda in my way to do that (1 year old son).

I am sure the topic of REALLY passwording the server has come up before. I am sure there is a huge tradeoff between keeping it public and making it so secure it is almost always empty. Quite a delima. I think there is some comfort in the fact that we are trying to keep the community to the rules and hope we can educate and help others to understand that rules make the gaming better. TG PR is still, by far the best server out there.

I for one am happy that there aren't a bunch of HATSNIPING FOOLS running amuck on the TG server..

HAT is a dam pain to use now. Couldnt get it to lock onto a target the other day, was just plumpting into the dirt and this was on kashan engaging targets well over 400m away

well...i'm pretty new here, but i have adopted the tags, and feel quite welcome here. its the ONLY pr server i play on anymore, and i LOVE the rules...BUT i never would have found it if it was passworded (is that a word?). i would have played on another server, and prolly never known what i was missing. i might not even still be playing. its the style of play here that i love about this game...i was in a clan back in the cod/cod-uo/cod2 days, and it was fun. then RO came out, and everyone said it will be awesome, we will be so tactical...best ww2 game ever...and so on. 2 months (less really) later, and no one played anymore...too booring (too tactical for them i think) they all said...

ok...i just re-read that, and its a bit rambling...sorry :P

i geuss what i'm trying to say is if its locked, sure there will be no new smacktards, but we will also loose any chance of meeting new Tacktards (to steal a word from wickens).

back in that clan i was in, we had a simple process for rule breakers: warn, kick, ban. of course with only a 32 man server, and almost always an admin on (almost every clan member had admin) it was ALOT esier to handle.

Very much so! On PW-night, the tollerance should be close to zero. As I see it, there are no excuses during PW-nights.

Especially since it's Members only AND the Admins are usually playing also during that time. If anyone screws up it should be pretty fast kick/ban.

I also concur with that, but there is something i would like to share with all of you.

Last night, 16 player Kashan was played with the new patch installed on the server, my internet finally decided to kit in at full speed and i was able to DL it, and install it and get in game for one round. And I have to say it was a glorious thing. The 16 player map size, was the full 64 size, however, only support trucks, humvees, vodniks, and transport choppers were put in place......It was AWESOME!! The way the map loads up is misleading and you still are able to build bunkers and FBs, but it was awesome and the best part was........hardly no complaining, a bit of confusion at first when i joined in, bc i was suprised there was no armor, but..guys its played perfectly, everyone was happy on both sides.....i think fellas those smacktards, well they will always be smacktards but its going to calm down.

And plus it gets better, no tanks on ejod, thats right, NO TANKS, just more urban fighting......the way ejod was meant to be played, as an urban combat area and utilizing apcs as a form of mech inf. And the 16 player version of that map is full on urban fighting with humvees and vodniks.....This so far is looking great!! And those tards will be taken care of, but guys DL the patch and give it a whirl its pretty damn awesome I must say, and i've been a skeptic/waiting along on the fence-line.

This makes no sense , why would you worry about pissing people off if they are banned because they where being "special" .. I dont see why when you pay for the server and you pay monthly that you would let some r tard come on your server and disrespect , your rules like that ....

Personally give them a thread where they can bitch about oh i didnt mean to one man that tank .. I didnt mean to one man and lock my squad, or pointlessly team kill others ... this should be an outright , ban and so be it if they bitch .. Your never going to make any one happy .. SO STOP BOWING DOWN TO THEM ... I expect more out of TG .. And I've seen what your all worth ... I mean for crist sakes I play on your server, more than my clans .. and even when i am on my own I DO NOT HESITATE TO BAN SOMEONE You screw around on my server your GONE . PLAIN AND SIMPLE ...I ve even banned [R-dik] tags before .... Its just that simple ... you need to stop thinking about , what the person your banning is going to think and just ban them ..( I myself have been banned a couple of times , and ive never once flipped about it, I know the process wait a hour or so then talk to an admin on TS)

But thats beside the point ............

What i mainly saying here is that you just need to bring the hammer BACK TO ADMINING .......................
