    Re: Rules, Rules, Rules

Spanish, I know that you're a good guy and didn't mean to hit the hornets nest here.

Skylark had some good advice: learn how things are done here (here, not on other servers) and take some time to browse the forums; see what is happening around here. There is a method to the madness that is TG. We strive for things that you don't find on 99% of the other servers out there. The rules we have are there to help us try to achieve the goals stated in our primer. Are they perfect? No. I disagree with some of them for various reasons, but when I play I adhere to them fully, because that is what is expected of everyone on the server.

We do welcome the discourse, and none of the people who have replied in this thread so far are jerks. Well, maybe Turkish is.

Lastly, I welcome you to the server, and feel free to join up in my squad any time.

    Re: Rules, Rules, Rules

In the last 2 days, i have heard about 3 years worth of complaining. What is with it? since .75 came people just don't want to follow rules or something? Cause i know when .7 was in, there wasn't nearly this many complaints. You also came into this with the wrong attitude, saying "TG people get what ever they want." I'll assure you, it's nothing close to the truth.

Sorry, but i think everyone in TG doesn't like seeing Hate-threads on our, or any other forum.

Someone previously mentioned the USCG doesn't go into combat, go on google and search USCG Taclet.

Ollie_Fool, ask yourself this; You're getting shot at, you have a javelin on your back, how much is your life worth? A javelin missile costs about $75,000 the DOD gets about 1/2 a trillion dollars every year. That's .000015% of their budget, I know they won't mind.
What your not getting is that we are all buddies here 8)

Ss for that missile answer, ask your self this: if you where in that situation would you use the missile you had straped on your back or the rifle in your hand. And would you trust that missle to explode on impact and do damage when you aim it at the ground close to the enemie infantry? or would it just skid across the earth.

is there a way to build assets without a commander? please do tell!!!

Spanish, i sense a lot of tension in your writing......I haven't seen you on the server that much, thanks for posting etc, but.....bring it down a notch, you are new to the server correct? Take a look around, and if you play consistently on the server you will see why such rules are put into place, just like how the military has strict rules of engagement, and TG has their own ROE.

Its plain and simple follow them, obey them, have fun. If you don't like them, then as others have stated there are several other servers where you can fly JETS all day long and only jets and wait on the runway to fly jets and take other peoples jets and helicopters, but here at TG there is a chain of command, if a commander is not in command, than any asset is up for grabs.
However if there is one and he assigns an asset to another squad then you have to suck it up and obey that ruling, you may not like it.......but as in life, somethings you might not like. Its simple, welcome to TG and I hope this tension and negativity mellows out a bit.

Not new to the server or the mod. I just wanted to get my point of view across. There aren't enough servers to be picky for PR and the TG server is only one of about a 1/2 a dozen that are always populated. Thought I'd share a TG "outsiders" point of view, that's all.

Psycho, we do not reserve any vehicle for any player, whether they wear the TG tag, they are supporting members, members of an IHS (in-house squad), or if they are admins.

What we do do is require there to be some order to the madness. The CO assigns the assets to a specific squad, and if there isn't a CO or they are not assigned, they are a first-come first-serve basis. There isn't a queue per se, but we do expect a level of maturity and that players be capable of sharing the toys.

If you would like to fly, ask for an invite to the pilot squad. If they are full or do not accept your request, please don't take it personally. How much of a need is there for a squad full of 6 pilots when there might be 2 helicopters available on a map? Why should the other 4 players stand around and do nothing? But, again, this is entirely up to the SL to decide.

I used to be a pretty good helicopter pilot and gunner in *gasp* vanilla (OH GOD - I SAID IT!). I've played at TG for almost a year now, and in that time I've flown exactly 1 time - yes, just once! It has never even occurred to me to voice a complaint on these forums, let alone any other, about people hogging assets. I feel there are much, much bigger fish to fry.

Well, i get the gist of rules. I just want to get the gist of rules discussion. I try to stay away from the kits that have unclear rules.

What would an HAT do alone laying down in a field? Things are getting off topic...

I think those downsides you are complaining about are some things we have to live with because this is life and TG can't please everyone.

I think the only important thing here is that everybody follows the SAME rules on TG, meaning that if you play on TG, than you agree with the rules being played on the server.

Else there are plenty of other servers and every of them have their downsides... It is still a game, free and online, so everyone can play on it, even the ones you don't want to...

    Re: Rules, Rules, Rules

If it aint broke, dont fix it...

If you notice, the TG server runs at 62/64 most of the time.
    Why?
    People love to play here.
    Why?
We have rules, and an orderly game is a fun game.
