Edit: Felt like I needed to put in something more than just that; so if you do like strategy, tacticalness (it is now a word) and teamwork then ArmA II really will be the game for you to buy.. I would say to buy ArmA right now but you might as well wait on ArmA 2 although it might be awhile before the game really gets things flowing well ( ArmA sure took a helluva time (was just due to budget spending.. no worries for ArmA 2, really.)) but instead of looking at all the reviews for it and just wondering how it would compare to PR I suggest you try it out somehow and decide how PR compares to ArmA..

Alot of people do seem to be speculating that, but from all the interviews ive read and the videos ive seen, it looks like they are sticking true to their word and will have a true combat sim. Check out the operation flashpoint 2 forum here at TG a number of new unseen videos have been posted up.
Reason people are thinking its going to be arcadey is because its very fluent in its movement unlike Operation Flashpoint 1 and Arma where the movement was very clumsy and slow, its also made fluent to apeal to a wider audience. but I will say this game wont be any less releastic than PR is now.

Re: PR versus ARMA
The major difference is that Operation Flashpoint and Arma were made by Bohemia interactive, while Codemasters has only got the right to the Flashpoint name, but none of the Bohemia staff, so the new game could be anything, from Bf2 to Arma, while Arma 2 is more set in what its going to do.

Re: PR versus ARMA
ArmA2's budget is much larger than ArmA's and BIS wont run out of money 1/2 way through development. Dont forget BIS is still updating ArmA, If they still have the time to update their predecessor then development of ArmA2 must be going great.

Re: PR versus ARMA
Is there a way to "snap" the aiming to make it like a normal FPS, not that "free roaming" aiming? If so I may buy ArmA, but I'll undoubtedly get ArmA 2.
