Re: PR versus ARMA

Hahahaha yea.. Usually when I got a rifle with a scope on it I wont engage in a bot unless im more than 500m away then they just kinda stand there waiting to get shot at sometimes they send flankers but thats why you chose to pick that one spot where you kill everyone and they cant kill you..

I just use suppressing fire in ArmA for urban combat, works well in this case if you got spare mags.

And yea this is the place I went to, been there 2 or 3 times now.. Best place in America probably for paintballing.

Correct. http://www.ddayadventurepark.com/ Look under "Paintball Events" on the menu to the left. Then go to "Oklahoma D-Day 2008". Enjoy. Also, for paintball equipment if you want to go all out with the military simulation, or just get a few things for casual play (Including guns. These guys have everything and lots of info on articles that could translate to PR, as it is a woodsball site) heres an awesome paintball site. http://www.specialopspaintball.com/

ARMA bots seem like they would be frustrating. Are the friendly bots supportive? As in do they help out or just hinder you?

Re: PR versus ARMA

Eh, paintball was fun for a while, but I really, really hated the mess. The idea of scrubbing alien jizz out of the fibers of all my MOLLE and webgear makes me cringe.

Here's a short vid of Op: Hearts and Minds that was put on in the area recently:

To get back on subject, thought I would post some pics from this past weekend in ARMA.

Re: PR versus ARMA

I just can't wait for this Mod to come out
Their site seems down at the moment

Check out their JDAM strike in this video

That is how it should have been in PR.

Wow.. the first scene in this video kinda creeped me out. Looks very realistic.

Cinematic mod indeed.

I think the only thing holding me back from playing this game is... my hardware.. i don't think it'd be able to handle it (my pc's about 4 years old .. I can't even play Assassin's Creed)

Re: PR versus ARMA

My PC isn't the greatest and it runs ArmA pretty good. My specs are basically 3.0 P4, 2GB RAM, 7800 GS, and a Raptor HDD. I'm in need of building another, but I'll have to save up some cash.

Re: PR versus ARMA

You really did just do trial and error of testing graphic settings on ArmA didnt you? Whats all your stuff at right now? (Shading, Object, Texture, View Distance, etc.)

Re: PR versus ARMA

Me? I didn't. The game set the default settings on high, and I reduced them down to normal and then turned my view distance back up to about 1795 or something, just under where it goes back up to the high setting. It runs pretty smooth and I don't have a lot of issues unless there's a lot of explosions going on in close proximity and that doesn't bother me since realistically I wouldn't be real coherent in that situation anyway, lol. I don't have the graphics that Bamboo does, obviously, but it still looks worlds better than PR.

That's right ladies; Skud's an Arma ice cold killer.

That was a round where I was the last one left. For a long time

Re: PR versus ARMA

As a testament to the growing popularity and gameplay on the TG ArmA server it has gone from 101st in the server rankings to 3rd as of this post:
