It's not the greatest, but it runs smooth on my system and I can't complain.

Re: PR versus ARMA
My brother has Arma, but we both prefer PR. Like has been said though, I'd be interested to see Arma 2. But even more to see BF3 (PR version though).

Re: PR versus ARMA
Ha! With the direction EA has taken lately, BF3 will be a pay to play game with all the usual point whores on top because they begged their mommy to buy all the various "upgrades" for them. I'll pass.

Re: PR versus ARMA
Yea Ive always dreaded the fact that once you buy a game and the consle to play it on (comp specs in this case) the company still makes you buy more shiet.. Just ridiculous. I understand and even like the point system of you advance this so and so amount and you get to unlock 2 new guns and w\e but the fact that some people get different benefits just to have slightly more guns??? Just stupid. I've always disliked EA's marketing schemes although they do come up with some nice games and engines..

Re: PR versus ARMA
I was wondering about something like this.. I had only recently learned of ArmA and immediatly after watching some youtube videos compared it to PR... I downloaded the demo.. might try to game today =D
I think I'll most likely stick with PR tho, seeing how pwnsome it already is

Re: PR versus ARMA
I heard the actual game is better then the demo and they recently patched it with in car voice and localised voip, which is very cool. Imagine overhearing an enemy squad talking, not just radio calls. At least thats how it works I think, I stick to pr because I think it may be a bit too hardcore for me, I might try arma2 maybe depends..

Demo is by no means a good judge of the game. The performance is terrible, no optimization... Worst Demo EVER.
Voip is crappy quality. While there are multiple useful channels, it really needs improvement.
You cannot hear enemies AFAIK

Sorta sucks that you gotta fork out 30 dollars to try the game, as the device to facilitate the public testing is flawed. All this ARMA talk makes me tempted to take another shot at it.

Re: PR versus ARMA
Can't hear enemies talking? I don't know what version your are playing, but you can year enemies talking on direct comms and afaik squad(raido) chat. I have played missions where it has been completely black except for flares going off every 1-3 min and i have been behind a wall, in complete blackness and hearing an enemy behind the wall saying they think they saw something.
I would lobe to know what versions you are playing.
Yes, I agree performance is not the best, but the game is by far the best tactical shooter i have played.

Re: PR versus ARMA
i can hear enemies in TvT, but i dont seem to hear them in co-ops...so maybe thats why skud hasn't heard them?
if you are thinking of getting it, i would say get it. its only $30 on steam and D2D (which is cheap...at least to me.) pach it up to 1.12, get a some cool mods, and join us on the TG server!
keep in mind its more of a sim than an FPS. its slower paced, but when the action starts its intense. if you prefer games like COD4 then you probably wouldn't like it.
oh, and its all about the people on the server...with the right buch of guys, its the best game out there...
