Re: One manning a Tank is SO REAL!!!
This is what I believe, the game should not start unless you have a commander, as soon as the commander takes his seat all squad leaders have to report their intentions to him, he then allocates assests, only when he has allocated assets, can the squad leader allocate assets to his squad. That way you have a comander, assets being used to support the team efforts, and not just let them be wasted, and also it would stop one manning of assets. The permissions would only come from the commander, and squad leaders.

Re: One manning a Tank is SO REAL!!!
Well given the name of "Project Reality" I have to add a little real life into the discussion. The driver exiting the tank to shut down the engine is completely unreasonable due to the fact that most tanks, the Abrams especially, take a little time to get fired up and mission ready. Just turning off the key and then starting it right back up isn't really an option. Also, due to the design of most tanks, the driver manning the .50 cal or the gunner position is sort of unrealistic also considering that you would have to climb out the hatch forward of the turret, then climb up on the turret and man the .50 or the main gun position.
And be fore anyone cries "it's just a game", I am not the one who named it "Project Reality".

Re: One manning a Tank is SO REAL!!!
The 50 cal has a delay on it now, maybe it can be adjusted to be a longer delay for tanks especially. I agree the driver being able to engage drive immediately could also have a delay.
It should only ever be a representation though not a literal 'realistic' 5 minute startup check before driving away every time |

Again, one-manning a tank does happen from time to time, but it's so rare now that creating more rules or further modifying the game engine just isn't worth it. Law of diminishing returns. |
