New 24" Monitor, now I got Black Bars

I Unplug 22" Samsung.
Plug my new Samsung 24" monitor in.
All is well.
Changed screen res to 1900 x 1200 from 1600 x 1200.
Installed display drivers.
Open PR.
Have black edges on screen.
Changed PR to 1600 x 1200 rez. from 1024 x whatever. Looks awesome.
Now I still have these black bars on Left and Right side.
It also does this on the bios startup screen and my O.S. select screen.
Everthing else is fine though. Just BF2.
** Mind you, next week I will have a different P.C. with Dual ATI HD3870's in Crossfire, and reformatted O.S.'s, and will Have to install PR and vBF2 and all that Jazz.
So.....
Do I wait for the new setup to fix or should I put my XP, the system for PR, native screen res. at the old 1600 x 1200. and try to play to see if it starts without the black bars.
My native is now 1900 x 1200.
I guess I got 300 pixels of black. 150 on each side.
Thanks, for more info ,just ask.
I installed BF2 and Pr when my native res was the 1600 x 1200.
If the answer is reinstall, I will wait for the other pc which is when I dismantle this one and add this video card to it.

Re: New 24" Monitor, now I got Black Bars

I put 1900 by 1200 in the command line of the desktop shortcut and it works fine. No bars and no stretching. HUD is slightly stretched on squad screen that's it. Mind you it took several attempts before it worked. You may also need to alter the monitor settings re scaling. I was trying to do this at the time to allow me to play in a 'window' type screen as I couldn't correct the stretching effect. Then I adjusted the command line to 1900 by 1200 and hey presto it looks fantastic. I am not sure how it worked exactly and I am loathe to touch any settings in case it breaks. Still try these things in random order, helps if you are a PC dumb as I am, blind luck and ignorance. There are posts elsewhere on the forums re the exact command line entry so refer there.

Good luck.

If I can remember exactly what order I hamfistedly pressed the buttons I will let you know.

Re: New 24" Monitor, now I got Black Bars

I use a 23.5 inch widescreen LCD, with a native resolution of 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hrtz, and BF2 runs fine at this resolution.
I get no black bars and nothing is stretched.

Re: New 24" Monitor, now I got Black Bars

I want to force widescreen when I dont have one

So I can record via fraps that way and save converting to that res/aspect for HD on vimeo

If I try 1280x720 then widescreen fixer should be at 15:9?

Tried it at 16:9 and it seemed to work fine, records in widescreen now but appears on my screen at a reported 1024x768 which is good enough to mess around on
