Re: Help Change the Map Rotation!
I don't see anything wrong with suggesting things to help the server. no one is forcing the admins to listen this, and it is a pretty good thread on seeing what maps people like, and what maps people don't like. The thread doesn't seem to be bent on whining to me. This is just a thread on suggesting map lists after all.
Ontopic: i sent my list to cola, don't know if he likes it or not.

Re: Help Change the Map Rotation!
Um, seriously, I created this thread for disposable, who requested that someone make this thread and sticky it so that no more questions/whining will arise about the map rotation.
Cause Randy, you're taking this thread to the entire opposite reason behind it's meaning. It was made to STOP whining and let people do something about it. Not encourage it.
Now, I see no mention of assets, at all on this thread. There really isn't anything to spark discussing about assets anyway. Now, if you're concerned about any potential "whining" that might occur on the thread, then close it and sticky it. Enough said.

Re: Help Change the Map Rotation!
Has Disposable even participated in this thread ? Unless he objects, I'd say we outta close this like Randy and Dirt are thinking.
The Admins are all very intelligent, approachable and open to discussion in other ways than this thread.

Re: Help Change the Map Rotation!
Or just leave the thread open and sticky it so it goes on and on and on. That way you can direct people who complain about the map rotation to this thread where they can complain about it. Keeps the noise to a minimum in a single thread you see and doesn't clutter up the forums with more of the same request.
Am I one of the few that actually understands the concept of a filter? And that you aren't required to actually post in a thread that you don't want to read? Or is it like one of those painful things that you keep doing because of morbid curiosity? You do realize that the admins don't actually have to read this thread. They can just give the impression that this thread matters. It's the practice of illusion that our governments often use and we seem to still believe them.
So I vote for leaving the thread. Let it grow and be contained in this containment area called one thread.

Re: Help Change the Map Rotation!
Here's my participation:
) Posting here does not constitute whining (at least not in my opinion)
) We're all really tired of the maps and need something new
) Keep the thread open, per Kilroy's suggestion
As has been said a gazillion times over, everyone is sick of the maps. No matter how we slice and dice the rotation, you're still going to see Qwai, Kashan, Fool's Road, Operation Ghost Train, Al Burj. Why? They're good maps and offer up some balanced play, are big enough to allow maneuver of forces for tactical play, and are visually appealing (if you've got to be on a map for 2+ hours, it'd better be nice to look at).
If you always play during a certain part of the day (probably about 90% of the TG population), then yes, odds are pretty strong that you'll see the same maps each day. Sorry. For those that are bothered by that, please understand that we're not changing the rotation every other day to suit the whims of a few. The rotation changes about once every week or two, and that's about as frequent as you're going to get (outside of password nights, when there is a different rotation set up).
So, no matter what we do to the rotation, it is still the same tired old maps. Whether Kashan is second in the rotation or fifth, it's still Kashan.
If you're tired of the maps, take a few days off. There's a big world outside your lair where you fight the good fight every day just waiting for you to explore. When you come back, perhaps the maps will have a little bit of freshness to them. Or, try something different next time you're on a map you are tired of: a different tactic, a different kit, a different role. Break up the routine and the monotony of it all.
Or, you could continue to post here about what you'd like to see for "your" rotation.

Re: Help Change the Map Rotation!
A good map is like a game of chess, theres many different ways to play it. Dont always do the obvious thing, take a different less direct route to achieving victory and you will be less bored on any map hopefully
On Qwai Ive noticed guys blowing up the bridges right at the start of the map then controlling the land bridge to the north. That is so excellent, maximise your teams advantages and cripple the enemy by their weakness and failings.
Might as well bung this in here too:

Re: Help Change the Map Rotation!
Basically, my intention of creating the thread was to inform other players on how they could influence the map rotation, without, quote & quote, "whining". So far I've seen none, so we should be all good.

Re: Help Change the Map Rotation!
I understand where you are coming from seaknight, however i see a lot of people saying what maps they like etc, and though i don't completely agree with the thread, i have yet to see more people post in a order what maps they would like to see be played...i have only seen 1 or 2 members do that in this thread.

Re: Help Change the Map Rotation!
Now that the TG vs TTP scrim is over, can we remove Qinling from the maplist? I know the reason it's up there is so we can prepare for the scrim, but now that it is over, we don't have a reason anymore. According to the poll, only 40% or so enjoy the map. 40% don't enjoy it, and the other varies depending on how bored they are.
And Seven Gates 16 isn't too great either. It always ends in a grenade spamfest.

Re: Help Change the Map Rotation!
Today, july 29, we had Fools Road twice in the rotation, one right after the other.

It's been changed to the 32 version, which is a bit better for public gameplay.

Could not agree more.
I 'm fine with most rotations now that I have a new system... it 's like playing a new game .
However if 7 Gates 16 comes up, I always hit the disconnect button. It might be good for 16 vs 16, but 64 players don't suit this map.
I 'm fine with Qinling, just wish there was a way to lower the ticket count/map, I have yet to play the 32 version.

Re: Help Change the Map Rotation!
Quinling 32 brought a lot more infantry squads and teamwork. Instead of EVERYONE wanting to either fly or be in a tank. You had 2 full infantry squads using APC support and helicopter transport to capture flags. It was a much better choice for public play. If its 32, I'm fine with it. But, the 64 version needs a lot of organization, something a public server can't offer.
