Ribbons!!

Please congratulate your fellow gamers on their accomplishments!

Distinguished Defense (Class I)

Who: CharityCase, Bellhade

Why:

Quote:
Our infantry squads on the MEC side during the Internal Scrimmage on 3/29 were led by Charity, eGoatBoy, and Belhade. Their superb defense of South Bunker, which was never lost to enemy hands, and only twice neutralized by U.S forces only to be swiftly taken back..and our long grasp on North Village by Charity's 5 man infantry squad against the impossible odds of being outnumbered by four enemy tanks and a full infantry squad was incredible. Belhade and eGoatBoy's perfect timing when they reinforced Charity's defense at South Bunker was amazing. The defense set up there for the rest of the round was one of the most solid I had ever seen.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Valorous Unit (Class I)

Who: Liquid.Watcher, Bellhade, DrifterDave, XL ifish828, BMXer4Life

Why:

Quote:
Map:Zatar Wetlands.

On a non-story note, this was the best defense I've ever seen. The island at E4 is a crucial choke point for the marines to break through if they want any access to the center of the map, which contains 3 control points.
...
There were times when we were down to 2 guys alive, firebase down to the base and rally point gone and these guys would bust out shovels just long enough for the rest of us to get back in the fight and redeploy our assets. I firmly believe that without the extreme defensive effort that my guys put forward on that little patch of land, the team would have lost the round in a matter of minutes. It was a phenomenal effort with a bunch of supremely professional players who spent the entire round showing everyone what playing at TG should really be like. It was teamwork in its purest form. It was determination, coordination and communication. I loved every minute and couldnt have asked for a better squad.

As such, I submit the nomination for Valorous Unit and Distinguished Defense for the gentlemen that I served with on that map. The ribbons could not be more deserved.
----------------------------------------------------------------

Medic Specialist (Class I)

Who: † Disciple †, BigEye

Why:

Quote:
† Disciple †

During the internal scrimmage...he singlehandedly put himself in harms way to complete 22 successful revives, as well as heal numerous players both in his squad and not, while putting himself in harms way, making sure to heal those individuals first and himself second.

BigEye

During Saturdays scrim Bigeye's skill as a medic was very evident throughout the match.Constantly there with med packs, de-fibs, smoke and rifle using all means at his disposal to keep squad and other teammates alive first in a successful assault at North Village, then later on in our assault at South bunker saving numorous tickets which were to become valuable at the end of the match. Whether it was his use of smoke to hide movement as he revived and healed or his use of rifle to eliminate enemy threats he always seemed to get the job done.
----------------------------------------------------------------

Distinguished Squad Leader (Class I)

Who: fuzzhead

Why:

Quote:
On the 4th of April on Bi Ming, Fuzzhead lead a squad divided into 2 fireteams. During the whole map Fuzzhead provided good intel on enemy movements by marking them with the attackmarker. He also kept a good order for the 2 fire teams and had them using firecover when moving across roads and rivers.
Fuzzhead knew when to retreat and when to attack, and never did a headless attack which ended in failure. Several times he told us to hold a defensive position and let the enemy come to us, with the result of our 2 fireteams providing excellent suppression and fire lanes.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Distinguished Squad Leader (Class I)

Who: OldDirti

Why:

Quote:
nominate |TG-irr| Oldirti for the distinguished squad leader award, for three great games this afternoon. He lead the squad well, he was friendly, helpful, funny, and knew his stuff. We managed to win 2 of the 3 games (I left the server before the end of the third so I don't know the result). He organised the squad, knew when to attack and when to retreat, was able to anticipate enemy moves, and was always ready with a joke or mini-game in moments of boredom (defending a flag, waiting for transport, etc.). They were some of the best rounds that I have ever played, and it was a pleasure being in his squad.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Spec Ops Specialist (Class I)

Who: Mnam

Why:

Quote:
Mnam was in my sneaky squad on the USMC team and showed how versatile and deadly his is with the Special Ops Kit. He singlehandedly followed orders and took out the Chinese Command Post over 4 times, even when stuck behind enemy lines, with no way of getting across the water Mnam used his kit to the best of his ability and took out 2 separate fire-bases and numerous support trucks while making the trek up to government office, along with countless other enemy soldiers who got in his way, there were period of times when I instructed Mnam to seek cover, for long periods and he did so without questioning my reasons.

Mnam even somehow meandered through a entire squad and was able to take out a squad of enemy troops while spotting enemy soldiers trying to enter the south entrance of Mine via the landbridge. Mnam deserves this ribbon for mastering the Special Ops kit, placing Slams on the enemy CP within the Enemy base and leaving immediately not lingering around when others have tried to do so and then try to entice the enemy to fire upon them. Even when out of ammo, he snuck in putting himself in harms way to re-arm and then destroy command posts and firebases, even when they were not fully destroyed.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Anti-Tank Specialist (Class I)

Who: Bamboo

Why:

Quote:
Bamboo nearly single handedly shut down the USMC armor around the bunker complex. With resupply from TurkishDelight in the transport chopper and eventually a firebase that was set up in the sand dunes west of the bunker complex, the only thing that limited how many tanks he could kill is the other missions our transport pilot had to fly. Bamboo went 32-6 playing the H-AT kit the whole round. I have never seen the anti-tank role played so flawlessly or effectively. I am nominating Bamboo for the Anti-Tank Specialist.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Jet Combat Specialist (Class I)

Who: Rat_Bastard

Why:

Quote:
Do not let Rat_Bastards name fool you, this guy does not work alone. His excellent piloting skills during the TG Internal Scrimmage on March 29, 2008 in the A-10 proved to be the catalyst for the USMC team. There were times when I was spotting and felt safer even as bullets were hitting all around me that he was in route, to take out a target, I witnessed 5 bombing runs made by him, and at no time did he hesitate to using the powerful mini gun on infantry and vodniks.

Rat flew with a certain guile of aggressiveness that would make even any AA gunner realize no one was safe on the ground. Still at the same time, he was aware of his surroundings and did not harm any friendly troops in the area, even with the powerful strafing runs he put into play. ... he used the A-10 above and beyond its capabilities and pushed it to the limits, all the while making “great success”, for the USMC team, and was even the reason for their (MEC) massive ticket loss in the closing minutes of the match.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Distinguished Tactician (Class I)

Who: d1sp0sabl3H3r0

Why:

Quote:
Disposable has earned the tactician Class I ribbon for plan of action that the USMC team would take during the TG internal scrimmage on March 20, 2008. Disposable thought up and planned the victory for the United States, utilizing every member and uses their strengths so that the squad they were put in would be the exact right fit. At no time did he alter his plan of action.

His plan was split into Three separate phases, each with clear and concise instructions so that no one would be left guessing at what to do next. His plans were easy to read and he even took the time to upload pictures of how planes/choppers would be protected and where and when he wanted AA deployed. His plan was the backbone to our success, we all know the map well but Disposable made us memorize every inch of the map and suggested in his plans that we get to know the tactics that the other squads would be doing in the case that one was not able to commit to that area. It was well thought out and like I said was the major reason why the USMC was victorious during the TG internal scrimmage.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Distinguished Volunteer (Class I)

Who: Ferris Bueller

Why:

Quote:
Ferris is a instrumental cog in the Tactical Gamer PR machine. Even though he is not an admin, he continually enforces the Tactical Gamer Primer and PR Rules and SOP's. For the past few ways the admin team could not think of a solution to remedy the declining teamplay during password night. Ferris stepped up and created and updates the "Password" video. With him continually updating the password, it does not take the admin teams attention on the server and it is one less thing we have to do. By having this done, then there is no excuse for breaking the rules. Ferris indirectly saved password nights here and made them more enjoyable.

The distinctive accomplishments of Ferris Bueller brings credit upon himself, the PR community and Tactical gamer.

----------------------------------------------------------------

This is the way it is supposed to be - lots and lots of ribbons! It shouldn't take a scrimmage to get nominations in, so keep sending those nominations, surely there are players out there who are worthy of recognition!

There is a link in my signature line below for writing nominations. Write one today!

Re: Ribbons!!

Great job guys. Congratulations.

Edit:
Did eGoatBoy not get the Distinguished Defense? His name is in the first nomination, listed as having been a major part of the operation at hand, etc. Was this a typo?

Congratulations everybody, very, very good show! All of these ribbons were well deserved. And now, I'm off to write some (extremely late) nominations for the in-house scrim...or should I write my AAR first?

We already have an AAR thread for the last scrim, or if you meant post your AAR on that thread, then I would do that first. It's probably not too late to still enter in some nominations.

Congratulations to all the ribbon recievers, you all deserve it
