Re: U.S. Army update, Part 2!

We all want .8, but we'll have to wait. Let the dev's do their thing - it will be all so worth it in the end.

Bypassing the ambush is just what the ambushers expected us to do.

The bradley rounds compare to the APC(LAV-25) cause they are both 25mm M242 guns. But the Bradley has a way higher rate of fire than the APC. And the LAV-25 can float on water but the Bradley is better for going up steep slopes
So the Bradley is just going to be a short and fat APC with TOWs then?

Pretty much. It's just for the army. The marines still use the LAV.

Did they do anything to un-suck the Blackhawk's minigun or does it still blow compared to vanilla BF2 ? Bring back the miniguns from Mutra!

There are 2 variants:

1. The one you see on Kashan is more olive-drab and has those awesome Air-Filters.
2. The one you see on Qwai is the woodland variant and does not have the huge air filters.

There is some stuff in the works for artillery (think simular to JDAM), who knows when it will be in.

And as long as I am on the R-DEV team, there will be NO conventional forces using parachutes. Sorry bout your luck. Maybe one day there will be an "airbourne" map where an entire team gets parachutes and drops from the sky (simular to airport map)

The best thing you could do to the Blackhawk's miniguns is remove them IMO.

Re: U.S. Army update, Part 2!

I was under the impression that in most front line infantry units such as stryker brigades, air assault, 75th, etc, soldiers prefer the ACOG on their M4's.
next come the EOtechs, and M68's are used only if they can't shell out the $ for the ACOG's and EOtechs.

In the screenies, all of the classes have M68's including the officers, but it also mentions that "some" of the riflemen classes will use the M68-->does this mean that that ACOG mounted M4 simply isn't modeled yet?

Re: U.S. Army update, Part 2!

I'm hoping that there will be a rifleman with an M16+ACOG and a rifleman with M4+M68.

But they say "Some rifleman," so it I think that there are three. If there were still only two, they would have said "one." So My guess is that the third is M4+ACOG. Seems kinda useless though, putting an ACOG on an M4. The M4 seems to be too much of a short range weapon for an ACOG.

EDIT: nevermind, I read the post after mine and yeah, there is an M4 w/ ACOG.
