practically what that patch does is it allows the BF2 engine to use more than 2GB of RAM

I know, I tried editing bf2.exe myself a few months ago with Visual C++ but I got kicked by PB after doing that...

How does one exactly jump down a bridge?
Is there a hole in which you can fall into?
One would jump off a bridge.
Anyway, on a serious note.
I think I may have got it working, I re-installed PR (for the 6th time) deleted PB then reinstalled that, then set my resolution to max. Oh, and increased my virtual memory and did the whole thing regarding the Memory Patch.

Re: PR .8 techincal problems thread
For some it is a problem with the size of the new textures and you do indeed need the memory fixed BF2.exe that creepin posted above. For some of us, the CTD 1-4 min. into the round is not related to PR. If you check, you will find that it is happening to you no matter what the mod is. For me, it happens in vBF2, POE, & PR. The EA forums have many users with a similar complaint that all started Monday night.
My suggestion is... if you crash in PR, try a different BF2 mod or vanilla. If you do not crash then you will know it is strictly related to PR and you can try the various PR fixes.

Re: PR .8 techincal problems thread
Ok guys i got a problem and its taking a long time for the PR help forum.
Well my microphone works fine (works in TS) but i am have big problems in VoIP. I did search but did not find anything related to my problem. When I was playing all of a sudden VoIP stopped working. I could not hear my squad mates or my own voice(all other sounds were fine). In the audio menu I saw the green bar when testing my mic but did not hear my voice. I uninstalled BF2 VoIP, restarted, and re-installed and it did not work. I also switched my DirectX from the highest level to the second first choice.

Re: connection problems
The game freezes or are you being bumped by PB?

Re: PR .8 techincal problems thread
I don't know if it is pb or not. what happens is that all action freezes around me, but I can still look around. the "connection problems" message appears on the screen, and then in 5-10 seconds I can play again. but only for 1-2 minutes before it happens again. after 10-15 times of this happening I freeze up again, exactly the same, but I get booted from the server and it says "your connection has been lost" nothing there about pb at all. did you guys do anything like 3 days ago? cause that is when all this started happening.
