You playing over WIFI? I had a similar issue when I tried playing wirelessly.

Alrighty, boys, here's my problemo:

Upon the map load finishing, and the Squad Assignment button making it's appearance, my game gives me a two second glimpse of hope, then a disastrous CTD.


I've tried reloading PB, using the updated bf2.exe and lowering my graphics settings. My resolution is at 1024X748, and my graphics card is a Radeon 2600 XT.

Any suggestions? I've been dying to play PR after a long lapse in my serious gaming.

I 'd search more in the direction of a background service/process or a problem with the router. If possible, try to play without the router just to test (straight from modem to pc).

You can test your connection by 'pinging' Google or another site, just to see if it drops from time to time. Open a command prompt (start -> run -> type cmd) and type ping www.google.be -t. Let it run for a few minutes and see if you get any time-outs.

Brain this probably won't help but try just lowering your lighting and textures to medium, apparently this helps crashes that used to occur for some when loading insuurgency maps.

I've attempted that, it didn't help much.
I'll try it one more time, but it's crashing during more than just insurgency maps, it's crashing for ALL maps on ALL servers.

Just upgraded to 285GTX and 24 inch monitor and.....

now BF2 works fine but PR will load levels then join server button then before i have a chance to click it game CTD.

I have tried using the resizing of resolution in shortcut and again it works fine on BF2 but not in PR.
I have tried uninstalling everything and then reinstall in order with patches and all...still have the problem. It seems to defin be a resolution problem because at some resolutions PR fails to even load the opening video on startup. I have 2gig of ram so this should not be an issue. Could the PR mod have a glitch causing this when used on widescreen 1920x1200 monitors? Help me! I miss PR!

(PS: I have tried everything in the forums already...and i have all updated drivers (WIN XP))

Try pressing escape to join a game if thats where it fails
delete the bf2 dir in my docs

Start bf2 and select the pr server from there and let it switch over to pr itself. I think thats allowed, not sure, try anyway

2 gig isnt a massive amount for pr but it shouldnt crash. Increase the windows pagefile size, set it to zero, reboot, alter settings, reboot, retry


Alter the boxes ticked on the server screen, try none, update, join a random pr server and if that doesnt work then try selecting a box to filter results, retry, etc

Lower my graphics didn't work (again), I'm still having my problems.

Crash to Desktop when the map finishes loading.

when i get up in the air my controls are backwards...ive tried to invert mouse in game options but it didnt help....please help thanks

- Update graphic drivers to latest version
- Uninstall PR core + levels
- Uninstall BF2 patch 1.41
- Uninstall BF2
- Delete BF2 folder under 'Program Files'
- Backup then delete/rename your BF2 folder under 'My Documents'
- Install BF2
- Install BF2 patch 1.41
- Install PR core + levels
- Boot PR and change res to 1024x768 before connecting, leave everything else default

That is about the cleanest thing you can do to make sure it 's not software related. If that fails, your problem will probably be a lot more serious.

Are you using a joystick or mouse and keyboard ?

Check under options, controls, aircraft/helicopter wether you set the correct buttons/joy axis on the right movements.
