Any ideas about this? I can run the game by itself just fine so I'm thinking it has somethig to do with my internet, possily the card itself
Tbh I wouldn't game over a wireless network, it 's just not that stable and I 'm not even sure if it 's possible in BF2 without the issue you bring up. I myself and other people have experienced connection problems with a +- one minute interval, it 's nothing new. Might be some Windows driver issue and maybe there 's a fix, but I 'd recommend a cable anytime .

Something makes me think my dad wouldn't like me taking a cable from my computer and running it through the hallway to the internet connection
How would I even connect to the internet anyway with a cable, just put the tv coax cable and connect it to the computer?

Installing problems (sorry if this was answered a long time ago I searched for it)

Well i have been having problem. What is happening, is i downloaded pr_0856_core_setup and pr_0856_levels_setup so i already have them and they are ready to go. What is happening, is that they aren't running once i double click on them. I have tried running them as admin and everything. Nothing is happening. Anyone know what to do? Or do i have to reinstall them? Thanks in advance.

Did the core and levels install to the same directory as BF2 is installed to? Is the shortcut set to correct parameters?

They aren't installed yet. They are still the setup or w/e file. They are on my desktop still in other words. So when i try to install them, they aren't installing.

Well, I'll get the blantantly obvious out of the way first: make sure BF2 is patched up.

Second, those files are huge. The installer, as I've seen, can take 5-10 mins to process and start the installer before you see anything. So heres my advice: run the core setup and go watch tv for 20 mins. come back and see if it works. if not, then theres some kind of other problem, but for most people thats the fix.

What he said..

Ive got a super fast brand new system and after clicking one of them it took like 15 minutes before I was even prompted to OK the install..

well, yes, what the others said, it takes time for it to start up.
i can give you the explanation: Its Windows Vista being a betch, just turn off UAC and everything will run faster, way faster, at least thats how i felt it.

How-To:

http://www.petri.co.il/disable_uac_in_windows_vista.htm

use method #4 its the easiest
