Check your Event Viewer for hard disk errors (start -> run -> eventvwr -> system tab). Map loading is mainly hard disk related so if it takes longer than usual, your HD might be in trouble.

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
Sproge, try using a tool called BFCleaner.
Run it, clear all your graphics cache, all you logo caches, all you favorite data, etc. Just go clicking CLEAN on everything once you run the program. I'd recommend you to defrag your HD after, and then try to run PR again.
If that doesn't solve, I'd try a reinstall from scratch.

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
try testing with hdtune
defrag with jkdefrag
if you are low on space, its best to delete everything apart from the bf2 in my docs and then defrag then reinstall

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
Hey guys,
My mic is not working in PR anymore. It works in TS, Mumble, and Steam games (which could possibly be the problem, since I just re-installed Steam). Ever since I have re-installed Steam the voip in PR does not transmit, I see the icon that says i'm transmitting, but my squaddies can't hear a thing. I tried checking if I was muted, and I wasn't. My mic is a standard plug, it is a non USB headset. I've checked everything I can think of and the mic works, just not in bf2. When I try to use the voip setup in the EAGAMES/Battlefield 2 folder, it wont even pickup the mic transmitting.
Help!

That is not true it every case. If you get that message, try to reinstall PR/ Bf2 and it should solve it.

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
Ever since .86 has come out i am not able to auto join the server when i start up Pr. I have all my shortcuts setup corrently and ever since i installed .86 it wont work. it gives me the error that i should launch pr.exe which i am launching through the shortcut bar. Everything else works for example my auto login and stopping all movies. Just when i add the +joinserver command it tells me i need to launch pr.exe not a big issue just wondering if anyone has found a fix to it

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
Its done that way on purpose, its an incidental inconvenience as Gore might say. There is no fix to allow you to join automatically afaik
