Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
lol....seems I have a new issue, although could be my computer.
Since that last perfect full game I played, my computer (a Gateway) seems to crap out after I spend about 8-10 minutes in a PR game. I'll be in the game and then my computer's fan will start reving up, then my monitor will crash and I am not able to get it working again unless I restart my computer.
Im not sure it has to do with my graphics card overheating because usually when my comp does that, it shuts off completely. In this case, the fan just revs up and the monitor takes a dump.
My computer is acts funky when it comes to these kind of crashing/random overheating problems. Sometimes it suddenly goes away but sometimes it's a prolonged problem so I'll keep playing around with it I guess.

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
try to download a temp monitor that works for your mobo or see if your vid card mfg has a temp monitor for the card. If your CPU is a P4 Prescott core it will be very hot. At 100% probably about 55-60 Celsius with stock cooling. If you get any higher than this, your thermal compound may have dried out and needs replacing. I never trusted the stuff that came on OEM heat sinks and I just remove it a put on a very very small amount of cheap thermal paste. If you have a newer core, it probably isn't due to overheating the CPU. However, it could still be your gfx card.

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
The temp in my CPU is definetely pretty hot when I'm running it. However the comp only seems to do this when I play PR- even when I play on all medium settings. It just seems kinda odd that I can play Arma 2 on full high settings and highest resolution without my comp heating up like that. I'll look more into the gfx card issue though.

Pretty hot doesn't crash computers. You need to know a number. And I would agree it's more likely a gfx issue.

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
Since the latest version install, I've had a slight but annoying problem. The text in the console is very small. I bring it up to scroll through chat spam or look at the maplist, but it's very hard to read. I just looked through my profile con files and didn't see anything for text size; did I miss it or is there some other way to fix? Or am I just SOL?

It's because he's trying to join when the server is full at 62/64.
Read more about that here.

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
Ok so I have a strange problem that I have never encountered before. For the past day or so, when a round ends & the map is changing I get a memory .dll allocation failure message, I get booted to desktop & have to start PR over again, but it doesnt do it all the time. I did a memtest & everything checks out. It has only seemed to do this sinse the new bf2 patch, which I haven't downloaded or installed..

- download the modified BF2.exe from the PR site so you can use more than 2GB RAM
- set textures to medium
- wait for patch 1.5 which will include a modified BF2.exe so you can use more than 2GB RAM

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
Actually, I never used this file ( bf2.exe) for my PR (I've got 4GB ram) and of course i am always getting some problems with crashing of my game, sometimes it is good for coffee break . When i had "win" XP on my PC i never had not this problem. It started after installing "Vista" and then win "7".
I hope it will end after new patch.

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
The modified BF2.exe file solved my random crashes and I could run textures on high, without crashing !

Everyone is getting this problem at the moment, as the server that hosts the flash menu/background and news ticker is down.
Source: http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-...n-pr-load.html
I also believe that the flash menu/background and news ticket is hosted on the same server as "gloryhoundz.com", so if you see that come up, I would presume so would the flash menu/background and news ticker, unless of course they moved everything to another server/network.
Though I did manage to get in twice. I waited on the menu screen (When it was black) for like half an hour and the background, menu and everything popped up and worked and I had a go with the commander asset (UAV) which I was a little upset with, especially on Asad Khal. (Basically the UAV is so high in the air you cannot see anything, due to the tiny fog distance) -- But it is pretty good on maps such Quinling and Kashan.

Can the UAV be shot down?
