PR .8 techincal problems thread
Because of the glut of threads being started with technical issues related to the .8 release, I'm starting a new thread that I would like all of these types of posts put in to try to keep the PR forums clear of "junk". Previous threads related to specific .8 technical issues were merged into this thread. Any new threads being started related to technical problems or PB issues will be locked, and more severe measures will be taken against repeat offenders.
Thanks!

Re: PR .8 techincal problems thread
I did some searching on the PR tech forums and found another (similar) fix to the memory.dll error.
Same trick but you won't need to install Visual Studio C++.
I edited the pr.exe as instructed and added the /3GB but I have no time to test tonight...

Re: PR .8 techincal problems thread
Tip: Check you punkbuster as well. I had crash to desktop issues yesterday all of a sudden. I buried myself into all these other fixes when it was good old PB acting up.

It 's Vista only but it doesn't work cause PB kicks you for it... just found out (MD5 mismatch).

FYI newegg is having an incredible sale on memory right now. http://promotions.newegg.com/NEemail...0A-_-Moredeals. 2 gb of fast memory for $27 with free shipping and you can't go wrong!

Re: PR .8 techincal problems thread
Just wanted to add in here an easier way of "obliderating" the game in case you need to re-install.
Use Revo Uninstaller. http://www.revouninstaller.com
It's freeware, no BS, gets the job done. It basically will assist in deleting all related files and Registry entries for you.
I've been using it extensively at work to be sure problematic applications are ripped out of workstations.

Re: PR .8 techincal problems thread
Not to mention it's SODIMM laptop memory and would never fit in a desktop, and appears to be JEDEC standard 5-5-5-18 timing (or worse, they just give the CAS latency on there). I'l keep my 4gb Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 timing ram

Are we looking at the same RAM? I think the poster meant
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...L1A-_-20145034
which is certainly not SODIMM

Re: PR .8 techincal problems thread
I just thought I would chime in...
It seems every time I go through the steps to fix (punkbuster) PR, it breaks 2142... then when I fix 2142, it breaks PR. Typically I do the "load a different map to 10% then switch to TG server" trick, but it's only worked a couple of times.
So unfortunately, until this is fixed, I won't be continuing PR any time soon. It's too much of a hassle.
