Re: PR .8 techincal problems thread

Here is something new... for me anyway.

For about 3 days now, randomly during the map, usually when someone talks, the game freezes, crashes, and my monitor goes black, with a message in japanese... w.t.f? lol.

You got computer aids. You'll live a nice life, but you will have to come to grips with it.

I'm running on a pre-built Gateway w/ basic vista, and almost nothing works on here. I'm not surprised I'm having so many issues, just wondering if anyone else has had similar problems.

New PC should be built soon enough.

Re: I need help installing

It sounds like something went wrong with the download. Try downloading it again (possibly from a different source) and then try running it.

PR Installation Guide

Also, please note this from the installation guide:

"It is important to run Project Reality 0.8 at a resolution of 1024x768 or above. Running it with a lower resolution will result in a crash to desktop upon loading a map."

Try changing your resolution, to anything, then back, apply every time. Worked for me.

Re: PR .8 techincal problems thread

After doing the punkbuster fix listed, I'm getting kicked for a "MD5TOOL Mismatch Len2048.

Googled some fixes, and some throughout TG, none work.

PB problems... no not the hanshake one!

Yesterday i downloaded Battle director from the sir community. the software altered the GameLogicInit.con and now PB kicked me from the server for 2 minutes after half an hour or so of gaming.
I tried the option repair GameLogicInit.con of battle director but it dosent seem to work beacause im getting kicked again.
Did some one have a working GameLogicInit.con that i can download to repair my game or a solution to get rid of my problem.

thank in advance!

Exactly what happened to me, tried to figure out why the GameLogicUnit.con error was happening, realized it started after downloading Battle Director.

I found a GameLogicInit download, it fixed it for a day, then it started happening again.

I guess I could try reinstalling BF2 and PR, but my Vista doesn't like PR too much... =/

Re: PR .8 techincal problems thread

I have found this on the PR forum for you mobius

"To answer your question hers something from the 1000 time I've answerd similar questions like this:

Battlefield 2/Project Reality will work fine on Vista. I notice a great deal of performance drop with BF2 under Windows Vista over Windows XP Pro. I can manage all high at 1280x800 with AA x4, but in order to achieve 40+ FPS I'm forced to have textures set to medium. Now I've tried both BF2 and PR on Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit and at present time I’m running them fine on Windows Vista Ultimate 64 without any issues. As I said before, you'll notice quite a performance drop in both of those games on Vista over XP, but they will most certainly run on Vista (depending on your system spec's as well).

Now hers what you will experience and will need to do while installing both games on a Vista machine:

While installing BF2/PR you will recive a warrning message from Battlefield telling you that the game has not been tested for operating system, and may not work correctly; don't mind the message and continue as you were. Now afther the installation you need to right click on the BF2/PR icon, go to properties and under compatibility tab checkmark "Run this program as an Administrator".

Other performace tips which some have been mentioned before include:
Changing Windows theme from Aero to Windows Basic while playing both games
Closing Sidebar
You might experience stutter while playing some Battlefield mods such as Project Reality under Vista even with a very capable system. To fix this issue you might need to change texture settings to medium while everything could be kept to you desired settings."

The URL is: http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-...ing-vista.html

hope it can help you.

Good re install to you

And ill do the same
