where do you find the 1680x 1050 res on PR ? I can only get as high as 1360x1024 or something like that

Re: WideScreen Support
I've come to the conclusion that it is all in your monitor. Some Monitors allow you you stretch the screen some do not. My son has a wide screen and can play PR no problem, using the solutions provided above. I can not and have to use my old monitor. Thank God for dual monitor support.

Re: WideScreen Support
Lion, I have this entered in the target line of the shortcut, you will need to adjust it to suit your file/directory set up ;
""E:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\ BF2.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200"
I think you just need to add the bit from menu 1 onwards ie "+fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200". You may have to try a couple of variations but it works perfectly for me and does the same for 2142, even before the last 2142 patch. If you can't get it to work give me a shout and we'll see if we can't muddle through fixing it together, bear in mind I am possible the least IT savvy person posting in this thread lol!

Re: WideScreen Support
Here's the shortcut I use, its perfect. It skips the login screen and there is no intro video. connects directly to the TG PR server as well
"E:\games\Battlefield 2\ BF2.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +playerName yourlogin +playerPassword yourpassword +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050 +restart +joinServer 64.34.161.157
Put this in your target line of the shortcut for PR. Remember to change "yourlogin" to your actual bf2 login name, same goes for "yourpassword". Also, you probably have BF2 installed in some other location so make sure to change that too.
If you don't want it to automatically connect to the TG PR server then remove "+joinServer 64.34.161.157"

I got it to work, thank you... Yepp I only had to change to C:\ and the things after menu. Do you use the 1920x1200 when you play ? I tried 1920x1080 (the max res for my screen) and it didnt start somehow, but 1680x1050 worked fine, so Im happy for that, thank you again

edit: I got 1920x1080 to work, must have typed something wrong....Dont know why, but I think 1680x1050 looks better then 1920x1080, judging by the looks at the menu (havent played with those res yet)

Re: WideScreen Support
It should look better at 1920x1080, i have my laptop set to 1920x1200 and it looks much better than 1680x1050 on desktop.

Re: WideScreen Support
Don't forget to use widscreen fixer to maximize your field of view (with an appreciable framerate drop).

Re: WideScreen Support
I used the widescreen fixer for about a week, but I didn't notice a huge difference and eventually I just forgot to keep turning it on.

Exactly my problem... and if you alt+tab out of the game to start WS fixer, PB will kick you.

Re: WideScreen Support
If you set BF2 to a widescreen resolution but don't use the fixer, it doesn't give you true widescreen. Instead, BF2 runs at the normal 4:3 aspect ratio but chops off the bottom and top of the picture to make it appear widescreen. So a player using a widescreen monitor without the fixer will actually have a smaller field of view than a player using a regular monitor.
I leave the fixer running in the background at all times, even when I'm not playing BF2. The settings are preserved between gaming sessions, so I don't have to re-activate it every time. And since I usually set my computer to hibernate, I rarely have to restart the fixer.

Re: WideScreen Support
I have used the Fixer, but I vasilate between wanting to have it on for the additional field of view, and wanting it off so the screen I am looking is more zoomed in..
I only used it for a week and then stopped, maybee Ill give it another shot..
