Re: TG PR SM Headcount
I'm a SM even when I can't afford it! It's just that good.

Re: TG PR SM Headcount
To me being a supporting member and donating to TG is kind of like an investment, it's something that I want to be apart of and to show my appreciation for, plus it helps with the cost of running the various games that TG hosts and it helps with maintaining the website, though I am not at the level yet to donate as the second choice of Yearly SM, I am glad that I made the right choice in registering and helping the community.
Plus I seriously can't play PR anywhere else, and you can't find a sandbox forum like TG's anywhere else on the internets. And if it wasn't for Bamboo's helpful advice, tips and links in the hardware section, i would have probably opened up my computer and destroyed something by accident.

Re: TG PR SM Headcount
I got myself a VISA just to buy a Supporting Membership. My GF has been using it to shop online ever since... fortunately she pays it back .
Even though I only get to play once or twice a week these days, I still think it 's worth the money.

Re: TG PR SM Headcount
I've been wondering this lately. Recently I've gotten my roomate playing PR, and he has been really turned off by the amount of times he gets disconnected for SM(~two times in a sitting). If you watched the server population at peak times, I wouldn't doubt that there are only a handful of slots open for non-SMs.
TG in this regaurd is more of a private server, which really is one of the reasons it is so superior to the rest; in order to play with the big boys you gotta put down some cash, and your average john wouldn't.
Either we accept this trend of mostly SM players during peak hours, or another server gets opened up. The private 64 that never seems to get used, I'm a bit ignorant to its purpose to be honest, comes to mind. I wouldn't go so far as to suggest a third server, I'm not sure what it takes to maintain just the two as they are.

Good idea. I think TG could fill 2 servers easily. Although I'm a non-SM and get on the sever at peak times with a little persistence and only been kicked for an SM twice.
Many of TG's servers could be trimmed down and the money moved to making more servers for games with more population. For example, do we really need two CSS and COD4 servers?

PM, Apophis and Tempus about this, it doesn't concern the Project Reality Community.

Re: TG PR SM Headcount
Wow, I'm honestly surprised by the number of SM. Didn't know there were that many in PR alone.

Re: TG PR SM Headcount
I wonder what fraction of all SMs are PR players?

Re: TG PR SM Headcount
Has to be a lot. A lot of people love our PR server, and many have probably donated just to play on it.
