Re: TG PR SM Headcount

$700 x 12 = $8400 per year
$80 x 90 = $7200 yearly.

We need 105 people buying the $80 supporting membership to keep PR financially stable. However, if we assume that 33% of people in the vote are doing $9 per month...
$9 x 12 x 30 = $3240
$80 x 60 = $4800
Sum = $8040
So, stable with a little extra.

And then there are plenty of people who donate without ever going to the forums, thus not participating in this poll. We won't have to worry too much about keeping our PR server up for a while yet.

I'd be confident saying that PR has the most SM, as the server is almost always full and always active, cant say the same for most other games that are running here at TG.

That is kind of naive don't you think? Especially since you can't say the same for the other games which TG hosts. You should check out the WoW, and BF2142 servers and teamspeak servers for a start. If people only used TS in the tactical gamer server as much as they used it in the 2142 server on a daily basis (not including internal scrims, PW events, server scrims, special events etc, because as we all know everyone in their mother gets on TS for those).
Then I would I possibly entertain the idea that PR is the most popular server and has the most SM's, however even that might or might not hold water as an example of that is listed below.

**TS usage, or mumble usage for that matter doesn't have to do anything in regards to supporting membership, however i was only trying to convey the point in regards to server population and the relation it has with registered users, though that can also have its own discrepancies because registered users in game are not always on TS or mumble.

Re: TG PR SM Headcount

I've contacted the site admins about the total number of SMs. I'll let you all know if they tell me anything.

Re: TG PR SM Headcount

Just so everyone knows how this works: we dont rent individual servers from third party companies. Apophis has actual boxes in a datacenter that are devoted to TG. So the SM money isnt allocated to just one game and we cant even begin to let ourselves think that way. When you throw down your 8.95/mo or your 80/yr, you're not just supporting the PR end, and you shouldnt be giving your money based on that mindset.

Randy is absolutely right. Yes, we have a server that is second to none. But more than that, we have a community that is second to none as well. Amazing servers over many many games. A forum community that spans the entire globe without the smacktardery that you see on the rest of the interwebs. An administration staff that not only keeps the place clean and running like a well oiled machine, but also keeps up with innovation and the desires of the community. TG really is a refuge for gamers everywhere who dont want to play like 12 year olds. Thats what your SM money supports and it's what you should WANT to support.

I know theres probably more than a few people who are SMs simply for the PR server. To those of you that are, I HIGHLY recommend that you go out and explore everything else TG has to offer. I've dipped into many of the different parts of TG at various times and loved every single one. PR, PoE, ArmA, 2142, CSS, NS, EvE Online, and several others. Theres a reason why theres 5000+ posts to my name. I love this place, and I hope that you all do too!

I had a SM, but had to give it up. I couldn't afford it.

I haven't got it just yet, but I'll probably buy a month or two when I get back from Europe.

There are plenty of ways afaik. I got myself a VISA from my bank just to get an SM, now I use it to order all kind of stuff online . You probably need to be 18+ for a VISA but I heard that some shops sell them pre-paid and those will do the job just as well.

If you 're not old enough to get a VISA, ask your parents or someone else you can trust.

Another option would be to transfer the money to my account and I 'd be happy to help you out .
