Korengal, the map with the most convincing terrain in the game. Qinling trees foliage doesn't render at distance, that and lack of cover and a totally unnatural look... would like to see it disappear or be remade.

My favorites are Ghost Train and Muttrah. OGT is smaller and more intimate with the forest setting, and Muttrah has the aerial and mechanized combat. I love the urban, mid-range environment.

Re: What is your favorite map in the rotation and WHY?

Im gonna have to go with Ramiel as either side. Playing as an insurgent still gives you a change to play at the lvl of the US without getting steamrolled as easily due to the dense city fighteing where it is all close range. The assets for the US are finely tuned so they can transport and provide light security to defend against the insurgents

Re: What is your favorite map in the rotation and WHY?

I like different maps for different reasons. For example, Kashan Desert wouldn't be my favorite for Infantry, but for armor or air, etc.

So...

Jets: Quinling 64, the terrain is much more varied and funner to play on then Kashan 64. I guess you could say it's more of a challenge.

Attack Helicopters: Kashan Desert 32, I love to fly at 900m, hovering and sneaking around the Battlefield.

Scout Choppers: Qwai Rivers 64, battles with the enemy chopper are always epic, and scouting for armor/tow humvees is always fun.

Transport Helicopters: Operation Barracuda 64, you have to be really tactical, and it's just awesome because you're almost never out of a job.

Anti-Aircraft: Kashan Desert 64, moving yourself right outside the airfield to prevent the jets from landing, and then have to hide from the HAT's and tanks rushing you is fun.

Tanks: Kashan Desert 32, trying to outmaneuver other tanks based on commander and spotter intel is a very strategic and intense battle.

APCs: Al' Kufrah Oilfields 64, being a BMP or Bradley is just like being a tank on Kashan Desert 32, but there's no fear of aircraft.

TOW Humvees: Qwai River 64, hunting China's tanks and blasting them before they have a chance, nuff' said.

.50 Cal Humvees: Muttrah City 64, amazing what one humvee can do on that map when provided with good intel.

.50 Cal Boats: Tad Sae 64, roaming the river preventing infantry crossings is a unique experience, and knowing that you're annoying the hell out of an infantry squad is just a plus.

Logistics: Al' Basrah 64, with all of the roads and insurgents that could ambush you at any moment while trying to get to your destination can be very scary. (;

Commander: Operation Ghost Train 64, with even with good squads, there will always be a hidden surprise for you.

Squad Leading: Ejod Desert 64, things always seem to go great for me on this map.

Basic Rifleman: Jabal Al' Burj 64, anything can happen, varied elevation heights are awesome, some unforgettable moments always occur in this map.

Snipa!: Operation Archer 64, picking insurgents off in the city defending a cache while providing intel to the commander is a lot of fun.

Spotter: Quinling 64, fun because it's easier to hide and driving around on a buggy all around a map and watching a 500lb JDAM destroy the vehicle you lased for CAS provides great satisfaction.

Combat Engineer: Muttrah City 64, sneaking around by grappling over buildings in search of FBs or unsuspecting tanks can provide with intense and satisfying moments.

Heavy Anti-Tank: Fools Road 64, taking out the spandrel or that tank is a very satisfying feeling and you've just taken care of an annoyance for your entire team.

Light Anti-Tank: Ramiel 64, nothing like trying to RPG a Little Bird out of the sky.

Anti-Air as Infantry: Ramiel 64, again, annoying the hell out of a Blackhawk or Little Bird is lots of fun.

Grenadier: Operation Archer 64, indirect fire and surprising the hell out of an infantry squad with them not knowing where the fire is coming from is always fun.

Automatic Rifleman: Muttrah City 64, holding off an entire alleyway and raining bullets on any infantry foolish enough to get by you is always fun.

Marksman: Sunset City 64, very urbanized and tough to get spotted provide good experiences.

Medic: Kashan Desert 16, when your entire squad is wiped out and you're the only one left, eliminating the enemy squad and reviving your own squad can provide lots of praise as you basically saved the flag. (;

Insurgency: Karbala 64, you can do anything, from fighting in caves to ambushing APCs to molotoving your enemies, there's always a unique experience.

Most Beautiful Map: Karbala 64, visually stunning, especially with all of the different types of terrain.

Most Action-Packed Map: Asad Khal 64: You step outside of your main and you basically already have contact.

Favorite Map Overall: None, every map provides it's own pros and cons.

Most Hated Map: None, every map provides it's own pros and cons.

Disclaimer: These categories are not in order of what my favorite thing to do is, I just organized it from Air to Armor to Infantry.

Asad Khal. A pure and simple fire fight, great fun. Muttrah is also the dogs whatsit's, with a rope in hand there are so many different ways across the city.

Re: What is your favorite map in the rotation and WHY?

For infantry combat, I have to actually say that Kozelsk is my favorite, and the one I do the best on when it comes to infantry.

CAS? Operation Barracuda. Can't beat it.

And Tad Sae is wonderful for naval combat.

Kashan 16 is my favorite for transport flying (particularly on the MEC side).

Despise Kashan, in my personal opinion, the most over-rated, over played, boring map ever made. A playground for assets that in 99% of all games dissolves into a whine fest between 12 year olds over who's got what toy, usually before they go off and lose them. Little or no cover for infantry, borderline prescribed avenues of attack and defense. A good map to log off to.
Yes agree fully with your assessment on Kashan. Qinling is even worse. Ridiculously slow and boring.

My favorite maps are probably Jabal (a fairly open map that works, unlike Kashan), Asad Khal (great inf combat, Qwai (I still find it very enjoyable after the changes), and Ramiel.

Re: What is your favorite map in the rotation and WHY?

Idk really, some of the match eacho ther, both in how much I like and dislike them.
All I know is:
Forest maps are win, lovely scenery along with some good infantry engagements.
Jungle maps; OGT. Especially fun as GBR but still very enjoyable as PLA.
Large open maps, Kashan for instance. It's the map you'd love to get sick of, once in a while is good, but too much and you really get bored of it. Qinling is really, the only other big big map, but it's different, it's hilly and vegetated compared to the open expanses of that same beige colour. I also sometimes hate asset overkill on those maps. Not that there are too many assets, but that people steamrolling with assets is very annoying to me. Because I'd rather getting steamrolled by some M4 rifles not M1A2 abrams. I dont really know how to explain it
Small maps, infantry. They are fun, something that in my opinion you can't really get sick of. I like the small maps because they usually have something like a forest or jungle, makes fun to play as infantry.
Insurgency. It's a decent all round gameplay, I feel too much of it is annoying.
Urban. Fun infantry combat. I also like the use of mild assets, I.E. APCs, Humvees, boats, Cobra etc...
I think I like Muttrah the best. If it's not in the rotation, well, Qwai. And if not that, Jabal/Barracuda. And if not those, Idk.
