Re: I can run PR on High!!!!!!!
well I have got an 4870 and it runs smoothly at around 100fps. It also depends what kind of screen you have....19inch vs 24 inch will make a difference in fps.....

Re: I can run PR on High!!!!!!!
I run at 1600x1200 res and it is fine mostly but not always which is slightly irritating because a drop from 50fps to 30 even occasionally will throw your aim off as much as fluctuating ping might do and it reduces immersion
I was on a 6800 before this and it was 30fps constant pretty much on low. I only upgraded for arma which then seems to need a quad core to work 'perfect'

Re: I can run PR on High!!!!!!!
You did seem kind of happy Blade. I remember when I had to run on low everything, with like 87 percent view distance. Was really horrible, so I only liked playing small CQB maps or on Kashan, in the bunker areas. Until I upgraded to a Dual Core 3.0ghz + 9600GT, now I can play games nicely without having to use my crappy Pentium 4.

Re: I can run PR on High!!!!!!!
I have an nVidia GeForce 9600GT and a intel E8400 dual core, with 2 GB RAM, and I have no problem running the game on max graphics with over 100 FPS on 1680x1050. I don't know what's going on with everyone else...

How can you call pentium 4 crappy? I bought my computer 6 years ago, and it was good at the time. All ive had to do is upgrade the memory to 3gb, and it still runs pr smoothly on high settings. (i would have got 4gb, but the thought of having to upgrade windows to 64-bit nearly made me have a nervous breakdown). When i upgraded the memory i thought about getting a better graphics card ( i have a 6800), but when i checked the prices i instantly changed my mind .

I run programs like Dreamweaver, Photoshop and I run loads of TAB's, it really does use all the CPU up, and I had 2gb's of RAM on XP home. It's not that bad, but I certainly felt a difference when I upgraded and don't think I could ever go back to a Pentium 4.

Re: I can run PR on High!!!!!!!
Hmmm, you may have a point. However, i just close all my background programs before i play PR and that seems to solve any problems. Pentium 4 works well for me, but I can see why you might need more power.

I agree with and practice that philsophy for the most part, except for the blurry depth of field thing in COD4, which looked kinda cool in single player, but drove me mental after a few hours of multiplayer.
Also (further derailing the thread), it probably doesn't apply that much to daytime-all-the-time PR, but I use in-game brightness tuners to play games the way the developer intended, and not turn my brightness way up so I can easily make out shapes in the dark. And I look down upon people do. That's right, look down! :P
