Re: Insurgency is awesome: How to have fun like I do
Oh Taipen, silly Taipen. I love the Lee, it has to be my favorite gun in the game, bar none. But I see it as a weapon of opportunity and last resort then an actually gun to assault straight into an enemy stronghold with. That's why I consider it a Medic's gun. It lets you know your main job is to heal and support your squad. Not just charge into an enemy position hip firing the Lee likes it's a minigun.
I love how you defended the Lee though, just watch where you point that Peacemaker, nearly took my eyebrow off. But we love your Drunkard self.
And Wickens, just because I am not popping off enemy squads like they're snickerdoodles doesn't mean I can't shoot!

Re: Insurgency is awesome: How to have fun like I do
The scoped Lee Einfield is now, quite simply, the most accurate sniper rifle in the game by my experience.

I don't think I've ever even used the Lee Enfield.

Although, Einfield is the enemy of people with ping above, idk, 200? Unless the enemy is sitting like a duck.

Ok cool ^^
Wasn't drunk though :P Not in the habit for that much, funnily enough - but appretiate your goodly response; it's welcome and noted.
Though I kinda think not being able to find an AA pod I just stood next to pretty much up there in the drunken PR bufoonary <grins>. So I have staked my claim amongst the legendary and can settle with that.
Yeah, it's kinda ironic but very nice I name myself after a top venomous snake (pretty thing) and a joke on gaming with 'pwn' - and I'm actually known as a good writer/orator in rl (lewd comments are welcome :P) and you guys pick up the pen.
Yeah, It would be the rifle I would carry if I was in the stix.
Anyway. Peacemaker is back besides the trusty hip. Appretiated and a friendly nod to you.

Re: Insurgency is awesome: How to have fun like I do
This whole post is good stuff. I too enjoy playing the "non-peacekeeps" more I think. I prefer setting up ambushes. I really hope everyone reads this post and gets something out of it. If you do all these things they will have a problem getting even 1 cache the whole round.
Normally, it's like the "Peacekeeps" just have to wait for someone to do something wrong on the insurgent side and "poof" there goes the cache.
Just getting people to not fire from the cache would be a grand improvement.
Ever thought about teaching a class on Insurgents? T-Man could hook ya up I am sure. It's Fun to use Learning for Evil!

Re: Insurgency is awesome: How to have fun like I do
I couldn't agree more. That's how we got a cache on Ramiel, during 2nd to last round of the IWS.
We just got done sweeping the SE side of teh city, taking out a cache. We RTB'd and when we passed by the docks someone fired a random rocket at us. We assumed there was a cache there and send in a team to check it out. Turns out there was a cache and we took it out with minimal casualties.
With that being said, the Peacekeeps can easily be dooped into believing there is a cache in someplace, and can be rolled out with awesome ambushes. Nothing says "Awesome" like hearing a tracked vehicle close by, then simultaneously hearing 4 RPGs being fired at it, killing it instantly.

Re: Insurgency is awesome: How to have fun like I do
walking sucks so yep I agree with this, I think the allies will home in on the hideout first before a cache.• Have at least 3 Hideouts placed at any given time for spawning, and do not place them right next to a cache.
• Sticking together as a squad is more effective than everyone lonewolfing, just as with regular forces.
You know the cache will go down when the blue mark goes clear of friendly
I get the second point but if you could get people working separately but also together then thats the ideal, much easier to control if everyone sticks together but its not as effective in my book as a squad that can attack from more then one direction
Even just one guy flanking while the majority of the squad have held them off works very well.
If a squad does get stuck in a siege or hold off situation try just one guy attacking from the other side, priority being for them to stay alive, draw attention or ideally wipe them out all at once if at all possible, which if they are clumped behind a door it is
Rkg I think might work off hitboxes and ping, I have high ping and not much success. It has to be a precise hit to destroy.
On infantry its great to lob over a wall and follow up with the akm, it'll stun and give an advantage most times

Re: Insurgency is awesome: How to have fun like I do
I definitely think that the insurgency mode has it's moments, but in my own, limited personal experience, it seems as though it's either really good or not really good at all.
And given my self-proclaimed semi-casual gamer status, I don't get to play as much as I would like to, and sometimes I just want to get into some action for a quick fix and not a long slog.
I have enjoyed many an insurgency round on both sides, but not quite as many as on the AAS maps.
Edit: However, I would not want to distract or disregard any of the great comments, suggestions and discussions in this thread. The insurgency mode is great, I just wish it were faster paced, but I know that it would kind of defeat the purpose.

Re: Insurgency is awesome: How to have fun like I do
Making the Blufor think the cache is located a place it is not is great. Just tested it yesterday on Op Archer.
The squad (led by MixOlydian I think?) along with another 69th led squad hid in the ATC tower at the airfield. The Blufor threw squad after squad (after about 30 minutes of the game starting) at us. Quite a few times they actually reached the tower, but they never reached the third floor.
Blufor never even took the ATC tower, and the actual cache was located 170m to the east in a small building out by a road, in G1. They never found that out.
The round was reversed if anything, the total scoreboard ended up with 180 something kills for the Taliban and near 90 kills for Blufor!
Although there were a lot of friendly inflicted grenade trap incidents. And I was the medic.|TG-69th|Berlancic2

Re: Insurgency is awesome: How to have fun like I do
I led the other squad at the Control Tower that round and the tactic that was employed normally has a 50/50 success/fail rate. Looking at the US team that round, they were not too bright, for example: Sending in Huey after Huey with M249's shooting out of the side whist hovering to try and clear the building; Forgoing on their long range advantage and engaging at close range; Staying static and defending ground, instead of staying mobile and only attacking using overwhelming force. Plus, I don't ever recall the US on that round trying to sneak a group of people around us to the H1 area, then sweeping East, which surely would have found them the cache.

Re: Insurgency is awesome: How to have fun like I do
I'm trying something different when Insurgent/Taliban, MINE MINE MINE!!!
On insurgency it's easier since you can spawn Sapper. With Tally you need the Engy kit, and sooner or later you'll end up loosing it...
NO SUCCESS so far!
Only friendlies falling on my mines or no one at all, lol!
But I'll get it figured out, sooner or later!
Sucks that you need a CO to mark more then 1 minefield too... Bleh!|TG-Irr|.Kevlar

Re: Insurgency is awesome: How to have fun like I do
The speed on the insurgent side is determined by the insurgents. If you hit and run without losing guys you can keep a fight up early but you have to be careful to not throw enough intel at the BluFor early.
If you sit on a cache they don't know about and simply wait in one place you will get bored, no doubt.
