Re: Evaluation

Orpal you mentioned a SL class? Where can I take one of these? I would like to learn to be a more effective SL, instead of just learning under fire. Sorry to highjack your post. I don't believe I have been in one of your squads as of yet.

Re: Evaluation

I like it. I get kills and don't die.

You have good plans, to me you seem to change them. I.E. you realise when the squad storms into an area and dies, you don't go there all over again, you go a different way.

You tell individual squad members what they need to do. I.E. you have good control over every soldier.

You should have included a vote opinion such as: I'm so good, every other leader sucks and I rule!

I can't find anything you need to improve on, probably because I played with you a few times only.

TMAN and Silver and probably the most nicest. From what I've seen. BOTH in E1st.

Best of all you stay focused mostly, in my experience with you. If someone doesn't come to help, you keep focused on objective. Rather than myself; have a bitch every time something happens that I think is annoying, and then the squad gets killed, hooray!

TMAN's all like "Oh well we can only keep trying." While I and maybe other squad members have a nervous breakdown.

Again this thread is for critisizing what you didn't like so I don't do it again... And I do really mean it.

thanks Kilgore

Note : I hope this thread is useful for all squad leaders that TG has, so they can learn from my mistakes, reviews...
Chillax I was just kiddin with the attention whore .

However one more thing came to mind. Sometimes it pays off to micromanage and engagement. At some point we were driven back with the enemy behind a slope. I flanked the enemy and shot like 2 guys in the side.
You could have ordered the saw to keep the enemies heads down and could have sent 2 squadmembers to do the flanking.
Flanking is a pretty basic maneuver so if you have the opportunity you might want to try to deploy the saw+riflemen to surpress the enemy, while you lead 1-2 guys in a flanking maneuver on maps where it is possible (in the desert the enemy is probably going to spot you).

Also I do not know how well you work toegether with other squads, because most of the time we came under attack by a single squad ourselfs and other squads were busy elsewhere.
So just in case, be realistic about what you are up against, if you have reason to believe that your squad is outnumbered and do not have equalizers like CAS at your disposal, try to get other squads to join you.

Thats a good tip. I usually do all the flanking alone while my squad covers. Officer shouldn't do that, and your post was a good reminder. I will try to seperate my squad into fireteams more often so you can easly flank the enemy.

Re: Evaluation

Sometimes splitting your squad into fireteams can also be a bad move. As when doing this you lose 30-50% of your firepower, depending if you have a LMG or not. But you also become more vunerable to detection when moving and can run into problems with communication whereby one fireteam will start to fire, the other is trying to move around and in the confusion on VOIp another member of the sneaking fireteam opens fire.

Othertimes it can work beautifully especially when storming a building or a street.

I guess in PR its easier to tell your squad to shoot in that direction and tell one guy to follow you, instead of trying to get 2 guys to flank.

Its easier yes, because you can give orders directly from my point of view.

Re: Evaluation

I'v been in your squad a couple of times now and i really enjoyed it, great SLing.
Just one suggestion, when a medic revives/heals someone, assign at least one squadmember to cover that medic.

I usually play as a medic in an infantry squad, and this is something that a lot of the squadleaders forget to do. Nothing is worse then healing somebody after a revive only to have that one sneaky guy wipe us both out due to our decreased situational awareness.

Re: Evaluation

You give people chances based on how severe the thing is they've done (e.g. baserape, tking). You aren't afraid to kick people, and you deal with them in a good tone, not angry, not weak. Just right.
