Relevant to this thread.. I have AA x2 and alt tab works for me. No weird crashes or PB kicks yet,but then again i have only played maybe an hour tops since it came out.

or if you guys didnt back up your files your can just re replace it and then delete your cache again

here is the origional that came with 1.5. You will not be able to alt+tab out but you will not get pb kicked. This came off of my install so it is clean and original

nvm i found a solution for me

Since i have 2 accounts on my computer (not BF2 accounts) BF2 is installed on both. For some reason (and I liek that reason) on my 2nd account BF2 files never updated so I got it from there

Applying that fix will get you kicked by PB if you play on a PR server that uses the recommended PR server punkbuster configuration.

- The hotfix replaces RendDX9.dll
- PR servers check for that file's MD5 value and filesize in the pb configuration.
- The hotfix RendDX9.dll file does not match the size or the MD5 value of the default file supplied with the BF2 1.5 patch.
- You get kicked.

Don't reformat, don't re-install. This is not a client side issue.

This does work - managed to survive a few hours without a kick.

Requires launching with the "fixed" dll, and then renaming it so PB reads the original file for MD5. Not sure if it really helps anyone, I am sure PB will be on this ASAP.

I'm just going to rough it out without alt tabbing and wait for a "real" official fix al-la dice statement.

Ok, our server is patched with the latest hotfix from the PR DEV team, so you should be able to now use the ALT-TAB hotfix without being kicked by PB. Please let us know if there are any further issues from this so we can relay that to the DEV team.

OK. It works. I played a couple rounds, hours, blah and I haven't got one single pb kick message. So yeah, alt+tab is back without any problems.
