Download the fix in this thread and you'll get your alt+tab back without any problems, such as pb kicks.. etc. You need to download the hot fix though. (In OP)

So does the hotfix now allow both the use of AA and Widescreen support?

yes, aa and widescreen is working now, but there can be servers which kicks you for md5 pb tool. TG is working fine with the patch

Strange, I have read all these posts about the alt+tab CTD issues, but when I do it, it works fine.

It wasn't working for me but didn't download the hotfix; I decided to just wait for the next update to keep things clean.
However, lately it has been working for me too.

Thanks Bullseye2550, greatly appriciated. I had previously read that it was a choice b/w using one or the other but now that I've gotten used to the true widescreen support, I really didn't want to have to make the choice. Finally I can re-enable my aa.

From what I have gathered, it effected some and not others, possibly depending on what level of AA you are set to. When I was at 8X, I was guaranteed to have issues (completely black screen and unable to do anything execpt reboot, not even control/alt/delete would work), everytime I alt/tabbed. When I disabled AA altogather, I had no issues at all. The "new improved" 1.5 patch is claimed to have the hotfix already implemented but I'm not sure if it has actually been released yet.
Thanks guys!

If Possible would anyone who has DL this and put it in the right place like to get on TS and walk me through it? My luck with these types of things are not good, and I would really like to be able to put AA back on without having to re-dl everything again.
PM me if you can.

Re: Official EA/DICE FIX for the alt+tab CTD (Hot fix)
I turned off the anti-aliasing and it solved the problem. That could be why some people don't have the alt-tab prob as they most likely dont have anti-aliasing on.Anyways the graphics don't look that great but I guess it depends on ones priorities.

If you install the fix in this original post, it will work, meaning you won't have to disable anti-aliasing.
