BF3, for me anyways, needs to have minimum:

- 64 players (but preferably 80+)

- largescale maps (2km but preferably 4km or 8km)

- conquest style flag capturing (all BF games have always had this, its a must)

- large variety of ground, air and sea units

- detailed squad system (maybe we can have platoons as well as squads with larger player amounts)

- mod tools and programs and supporting the mods (BC2 I dont think will have this)

... in order to be called a true sequel. BC2 is said to have 48 player limit, and looks like a lot of features from BF2 will have to be downsized to keep consoles working.

Who knows if a BF3 for the PC is in development but heres hoping it is
i agree with fuzzhead these are all the things i loved about bf2 and why BC was so disapointing to me

Supporting the community is paramount to success and longevity of the franchise.

We're all still playing a 5 year old game engine, aren't we?

If the next PC release of a Battlefield title does not include this it will quickly die out.

2142? 1943?

either way im not geting my hopes up because i was disapointed about the first one and its online gameplay
Didnt take those into account, when i wrote the topic i was clearly thinking about the success of that release, so it should be "the first Promising battlefield project for PC since bf2"

Imo 2142 and 1943 dosnt acctualy cut it like bf2.

cheers

Re: Battlefield:BC2 = BF3?

As a lover of good music and good sound I have to say that trailer they made there was surely "made up" to look good (making up game scenes etc) but wow, these sounds really take me to a nice battlefield.

Having to listen to the crappy flashpoint 2 sounds is a pain in the ass... Arma 2 sounds like **** too, even with mods.

The only good thing with good and real sounding sounds is PR.

I dont know how a real gun sounds in real life, but my best friend is in army right now and he says, its loud, its short , its snappy. Like PR's sounds.

In CoD5 it was just the same sound all the time, edited in pitch, lenght and compression/attack.

And of course, fuzzy is right:

I will NOT be motivated to play a game or even make a MOD for it, if it's technology is a step BACKWARDs... We shall get more players, instead of less. We need more landscape, instead of less. etc etc...

Thats not entirely correct...

Acctually OP Flashpoint has allmost 100% accuracy when it comes to the real rifle sounds!
Allmost every model in the game was recorded from live firing range, plus i'm an army x and a current reserved, trust me, the M16 allone is 100% accurate.

And not to mention the awsom work they made with the environmenet and effects sounds...i am really impressed.

Bad company 2 has some serious sounds going on, but everything is still open untill march..will see when the finnal deal will be out.

Re: Battlefield:BC2 = BF3?

Operartion Flashpoint 2 has recorded gun-sounds?

Mh... they sound kinda quiet to me.
Ahh, well, gotta go to the army to find out.

And the minigun sounds like a chain pulled over a stone... ^^ Chaingun!

Not like the miniguns on the youtube videos at all.
