Re: 19th Jan - PRM

Fun!

It only took around six people to seed the server and it quickly exploded to 62. The SM kick was in full effect!

Muttrah was awful (I usually enjoy that map) but the rest were enjoyable in one way or the other.

Let's play PRM more often, says I!!

Re: 19th Jan - PRM

I had a Blast. I never really liked PRM that much and I am really into vanilla right now, but I had a fun time. I have never really played commander that often on vanilla and never on PRM. But I got to say that it is really easy when you got SL that actually follow orders. It was really quite refreshing. I thougnt I did an excellent job commanding and we came from behind several times. Hats off to all my SL...you made me look good

Re: 19th Jan - PRM

Oh man that was fun! It has been a long time since we had a full PRM server and it was awesome. It's 1:35am and there are still 40 people on! Many thanks to the people who seeded tonight.

Nice job commanding, Dirtboy, and thanks to everyone who turned up.

Next week we're back to vanilla.

I dunno what was going on but I kept getting disconnected every couple of minutes, very annoying. In the end I just gave up and went back to bed. ¬_¬

It's 5:50 EST and the server's still populated. After all this talk about the PRM server being dead, it seems that it only takes a few seeders to get the server going.

A lot probably has to do with the fact that it was a Friday night. Still, I logged on at 8 o'clock and there were tumbleweeds blowing through the map. Soon Root and Dirtboy joined. About 20 minutes after that it was up to 40, then very shortly after that 62 with people being kicked left and right.

Big thanks to John C. for admin work as well.

I'd definitely seed the server more often, but I'm never certain what nights I can play (if any) and I need to leave at 10 p.m. EST for work. If tonight was any gauge, though, it looks like around six or so is all it takes for the server to find its legs.

EDIT: One other tidbit. Most of us that have played PRM realize the "health" icons for dead/injured soldiers quickly dissapears for medics, i.e., if you're fighting in the woods the medic only has a few short seconds to find your body before your status icon fades away. However, if you hit your left mouse button (fire) you call for the medic and the icon reappears. I only remembered this shortly before I logged off and so when someone went down I asked them to keep spamming their fire button until I could locate them. It's a big help to all the medics out there.

Re: 19th Jan - PRM

Dirtboy, I was the enemy CO for most of the maps last night from 9-11:30. Dragon Valley turned out hairy when you came back from behind and capped Power Station, partly because I overlooked the defense of it, but all the other maps went great.

Dragon Valley was pissing me off so bad. I would make a push onto one flag, then the next thing I know, you were capping the flag where I was at. I had to go in there and blast about 10 with my shotty to get my flag back. Then one of my SL was like "screw this I am gonna take my squad to the power station". I believe that was root. Anyway, that was the turning point right there. We just kept leapfrogging from one flag to the next. Great Games last night Acid. I hope to be the commander against you some other time

Not guilty. We inserted via the 60 initially and got beat back. We then used boats to get in a second time. I think there was a third run up there by helo. Coridan and the rest of my squad fought hard to get that flag, and it certainly seemed to through the OpFor into disarray.

Friday night helps it stay packed longer... but all it really takes is a few TGers to seed the server. Excellent work guys.

Re: 19th Jan - PRM

I played a few rounds last night under my friends account (bmwklr) and had a blast. Its nice to see the server full. I'm without a gpu still (fried), so I hope to be back up soon and seeding the server.
