Well, they go the spinup part right

That is what it looked like when eGoatboy was practicing flying before the Scrim Friday night. Oh the memories!

Re: 0.5 helicopters..

Anyone have recommended helo sensitivity settings. I can fly the jets easily right now (who knows what will happen with 0.6) but can't control the helos at all. I can get the helo into the air fine but getting to where I want to go is impossible. I am constantly fighting the machine to maintain straight and level flight. I'm using a Saitek x52 to fly.

Are you flying with maxed out throttle? I find the best way to get around is operating with about 40-60% collective. From there it's simply a matter of using careful and precise movements, as opposed to the more extreme twists and turns of the jets.

Re: 0.5 helicopters..

Interesting. I use a gamepad for all my piloting/driving needs.

For Jets & Choppers, I use a Logitech gamepad with 2 analogue sticks configured as follows:

For Tanks and Armor, I use a combination of the two; gamepad analogue sticks in my left hand to control the chassis and the mouse in the right to control the turret (where applicable).

Jeeps and transport is just the analogue sticks again.

I had a joy stick, one of those high-end Saitek Stick+Throttle kits (can’t remember the model number). But I found having my arms stretched out over my desk for lengthy periods of time put strain on my upper back and shoulders. And I work in the construction industry, so I'm no panzy when it comes to endurance and hardiness.

From mod to mod, I find that this has been the most comfortable set up for me and offers as high a degree of precision when executing maneuvers as any joystick did. It was also about $120 cheaper.

PRM appears to be no exception as I was able to reign in the Cobra quite handily (once I figured out how to get the pilot’s kit). I haven’t tried the jets yet but I don’t expect that they would present too much of a problem.
