Yeah, deal breaker for me also.

/Rick pulls out the John Kerry flip-flop card and plays it.

Ric: What's that?

No. Just because I recieved more information on a topic and changed my mind based upon that knowledge I am still a flip-flop. One must stick their orginial stance no matter what to not be a flip-flop; Duhh.

Isn't changing your mind once just a flip?

I personally would like the side change if the squads could be maintained, but it sounds like that is not possible. I do know that squads can be reformed easily enough though, and an organized squad can reform on the following round if they really wanted to. I take it there is no problem with just manually switching at round change if you get sick of playing one side too much currently?

Defintiely no problem with that. I think it needs to be done more (if we don't go with automated switching), given the decided advantage the defenders have on most maps.

Re: Request: Enable side-switching after each round

I totaly agree with WIskey Six becuase for the reasons he posted, i am struggeling no end to find 7 TS users to join a squad, even though there are often over 15 TS users total on 1 team.

And the point about breaking squad up. It never happens becuase as soon as the SL clicks re-create after given all players a decent ammount of time to load the game, all the players from the last round in the squad, join with in 2 seconds.

Re: Request: Enable side-switching after each round

i agree, its not an issue about re-forming the squad, its very easy to do. i think the benefits far outweigh that...

about squad bug: ive seen it on both servers with autoswitch on and autoswitch off so im not sure if thats whats causing it...

Count me in favor of side switching after each round.

Re: Request: Enable side-switching after each round

As PR 0.5 progresses, I am getting won more and more for changing teams.

1) On china/mec you don't get to fly ever.

2) Specialty squads stay on as infantry squads when a round ends and an inf map comes up. No problem yet, but then the next map has air again, and you end up with an air squad, a cobra squad, an a10 squad and a transport squad.

I don't think it would be so hard to ask a good squad to form up again after a round. I would like to try it at least. Maybe on a PW night? See how it works out to reform squads etc.

I'm not sure really might work great, might be too cumbersome to lock squad and invite all. You'd have to write them all down like Emale and John do!

Re: Request: Enable side-switching after each round

All other servers have teamswitch, and it works just great.

If your worried about keeping the same squad members, simply create & lock & invite.

My opinion is that creating each new time, helps you show new players the ropes. By having your same full squad for 3 maps straight, your not showing any new players anything. Ive seen the TG squads always full of TG members, and locked... not too inviting for the new guys...

That should be the exception to the rule, and is in my experience. We try to incorporate new people as much as possible into our squads (at least those other TGers I play with).

Educating new players (which TG is blessed/cursed with getting lots of thanks to our high server population) is absolutely crucial in increasing the quality of play in the mod here and elsewhere. I agree that teamswitching between rounds would be beneficial, but that squad bug has as of yet not been seen on this server to my knowledge, and if we're the only server that doesn't get it and the only one that apparently doesn't teamswitch, that draws a pretty strong connection between the two events, in my opinion.

Bump. In response to the suggestions made here, side-switching is now enabled on the PR server.

Re: Request: Enable side-switching after each round

Yeah I'm liking it so far. The only obstacle is really creating squads new every game, but that's a lot less of a PITA than constantly assaulting or constantly defending.

Re: Request: Enable side-switching after each round

I'm not liking this side-switching. I prefer to keep a good squad together without having to keep re-inviting people. I also don't like playing on the non-US side (even the UK stuff just doesn't compare).
