Here are some of the reasons why I'd like to see it enabled:
1) It offers everyone an opportunity to start and SL a squad without having to worry about a limited pool of potential squad members - since everyone starts not in a squad.
2) It allows specialty squads to be created that are appropriate for that map (and removes the problem of having an "AIR SUPPORT" squad carried over onto a non-air map)
3) When a SL leaves at the end of a round, you end up with a random SL - one that may not have a mic... or any interest in SL'ing... leading to SL roulette. This way - every squad has a SL that wants to be SL.
4) Perhaps most obvious, it let's you try different weapons and different tactics because you're not playing the same faction the entire night
The only reason I've heard why it's not enabled is because it breaks up squads. The reason I don't think this is a big deal is because it's so easy to recreate your squad: Just start the squad locked and invite back your SM's.
Your thoughts?

Guys lets put it back the way it was...please
Squads are being broken up too easily, it takes at least 1/2-3/4 of a round for a squad to get working really well and for squad mates to get to know each other, before you kept working together every round....now its random and you re satarting from scratch each time.
If you really want to change faction then you can ingame anyway after a few tries.
The reason i stayed using TG's server was that you got to know your team really well, you re commander really well and the game well...now its the same as Thors or Dev......

Re: Request: Enable side-switching after each round
From what I have seen, it takes all of about 20 seconds to lock, reinvite the squad from last round, unlock. Of course, you have to remember everyones names, but if you have built such good relations(the reason people want to keep squads together) then you should know their names.

Re: Request: Enable side-switching after each round
I'm all for this most of the time, since i'm finding it hard to get into a good squad at the moment (this may have something to do with the fact I'm UK GMT...the quality of play increases as it gets later - I'm adjusting my play times to compensate!).
I can see people complaining on password nights though, when things are more organised. Is it a setting that would be changeable when the password events start, or is that too much hassle?

Re: Request: Enable side-switching after each round
John F. Pointed out something that went over my head...This is whole team switching, not randomizing of teams. As Donegal astutely points out it takes about 15-20 seconds to receive an invite and accept it.
I'm liking it.

Re: Request: Enable side-switching after each round
Donagle and Grunt are correct. Just remember who was in your squad last round and let them know your going to re nvite before the round ends. Simple, Like I told Grunt it only switches sides for ALL players it does not however shuffle players between teams. EX if you and the rest of your team was US this round you and that same team are going to be opfor provided no one manually switches themselves.

Re: Request: Enable side-switching after each round
I would like this change better if there were 2 rounds per map. WIthout the 2 rounds per map, the intended effect seems not as...effective

Oh good no rounds on maps like basrah and mullet already last like and hour and a half. I don't wanna do that twice.

Re: Request: Enable side-switching after each round
Team switching seemed to work well last night; we had a good squad remain mostly intact for a few hours

I think I'm the biggest (only?) fan of the 2 hour+ Basrha session, and even I agree with you. Any map that's over quick enough to play again, is a map that needs its settings looked at.

For some reason I'm dreading Qwai of late but really enjoying Al-Basrah.

Re: Request: Enable side-switching after each round
2 rounds per map would just be to much, certain maps take forever to finish. That would definitely be boring.
