Re: Total Fire superiority

Congrats, however, I like 6 man squads the way they are. However, there's alot of potential for this, and its really a good leap forward to organize the way you did.

Hi, I had the pleasure of being in Fireteam Bravo with Top Cat as Fireteam leader and Crawlingeye as Fireteam Alpha leader. I did not have TeamSpeak at that time but when the map (Helmand) ended and Kashan came on I thought to myself-"stuff it. This map stabs my computer and thus I hate this map for doing that. I'm off to download teamspeak." Anyway, back to helmand. We were the British team (yay!) and the system worked quite well in my opinion. We spent most of our time holed up in Whiskey base getting set on fire by Molotovs and watching some team members cutting down hordes of charging civilians with their M249s, so the map was over fairly quickly. I reckon it worked well and thats why I have now got teamspeak. (I don't understand it fully yet as I was tired when I started trying to work it out and then the internet decided to join Kashan in the lets all stab westy's pc club.) So yeah, I enjoyed it and although my skills (or total lack of) with a grenade launcher probably dissapointed the squad it was fun and worked. So now I'm off to see it Top Cat is on the TG server now.

That was a great round... even though there aren't lots of flanking moves to make on helmand.
Me and Top Cat communicated well on TS (yes, it worked with just 2 people on). Near the end of the round Top Cat desided that we would attack X-ray... it went well. Alpha (my fireteam) would attack while Bravo supressed. There was lots of smoke and fire on x-ray when we attack and just as we were in the cap radius the round ended.
I don't even think there were any enemies there, but Top Cat wants to ignore that fact ^^

Re: Total Fire superiority

I am pretty sure we had 3 SAW machine guns and a UGL launcher firing on XRAY from the earth wall south of it.
Now that is the sort of firepower you just cant muster from a 6man squad all that easily, ontop of having another 4 men run in at the very same. I dont think many TG players could really vouch to being able to hold off an attack like that!
In that situation, it was most definitely total fire superiority!

Still ignoring the fact that there weren't any opposition in that area xD (Good practise though

I don't see many problems with using TS with PR... VOiP doesn't have everything you need (well basicly it does, but not for an 8 man section... yes you heard it, section not squad ;P. Me,Top Cat and westyfield and many more have proven that you can control an 8 man section with only 2 people on TS which is not a big ammount imo ^^(I actually think it's a bit harder with everyone on TS).

Re: Total Fire superiority

TeamSpeak is really a very very simple program to use. Its size is also ridiculously small (5 MBs)when considering how usefull it is and how giant the PR 0.6 file was (1600 MBs).

DO accept the following terms AND IT IS DONE:

FINALY to have a jolly chat about the weather, TGs next scrim or about fireteams join the TG TeamSpeak server by, on this very webpage, selecting "Resources" from the top tool bar (one with "home", "Games", "forums" ext.) and then selecting "teamspeak". Follow the instructions and WIN BIG!

So we are all looking forwed to saying hello to you BeerHunter tonight and i hope you can join in with some cool tactics.

You actually DO win big.

To anyone that's interested I highly recommend downloading TS (even if you don't know how it's used)

It's very easy to use, just don't go anywhere near the keybinds section (shudder)
It's so confusing there I just set it to "push to talk-button to press is c" and left it at that.

Re: Total Fire superiority

OK so now my BF2 is f***d and I have to reinstall. Don't know what happened but I'm getting some CTD's so guess a reinstall is best way to go.

Deleted Ventrillo and replaced with TS.

Hope to catch you on the server sometime this week end.
