Signed.

I did not realize small arms fire can take out a Rally Point, all I ever hear is people calling for grenades or explosives.

Implemented in 0.509, around 50 shots from any rifles will take a rally point out.

A lot of people don't know that, and if they have no explosives, they just sit there and spawn camp it.

Re: Gentlemen's Agreement for PR

In general I support this though I would like to see some changes. This GA has the right spirit of sportsmanship. If adopted I hope it is included in the posts with the rules/SOP.

Braidedheadman brings up points that should be included.

However,

Personal addendum: When flying, and if passing through enemy airspace (non-aggressive over flight) en route to engage other viable targets/destinations, if resistance is encountered in the form of AAA, SAM, MAA, and/or MANPADs lurking within main bases; expect a reprisal. Fair’s fair. Also, fleeing toward your main base offers no protection and you risk bringing collateral damage to your team mates. Amnesty is not immunity.
The same should apply to infrantry/vehicles conducting a mission within firing range a Main Base. If you flee to or engage enemy from within a main base, do not expect immunity. On the other hand if you are responding to an engagement from within a main base you have a responsibility to not let the battle deteriorate into base raping/spawn camping.

The broad wording of Item 1 should allow for the ebb and flo of the battle at the Main base when it comes down to the last few CPs. It will probably not assuage all the concerns in the post:

Personally I do not think all those worthy issues need addressing as a rule or GA.

I do not aggree with a part of Item 5 and would like to see it modified.

Jihad is very much a part of Insurgent maps like Al Basrah. It is part of the included resources designed into the map e.g. Bomb trucks, bomb cars, their location near incoming access for opposing armor, etc. PR has introduced new forms of gameplay that require us to reconsider rules developed for vanilla BF2.

Keep in mind that the US team is not without countmeasures. I have effectively repelled Jihad attacks by organizing into convoys and applying defensive tactics. Conversely I have also gotten quite good at loading a dirtbike up with C4, carefully timing my approach to armor (even moving armor), stopping abreast the armour, jumping into a ditch, blowing it and living.

Such a map is designed to be asymetric. Each side has very different resources, strengths and capabilities. As this is just a game thought has been given to balancing these so that for each OpFor's strength, there is a countermeasure. You ignore them at your own peril. And the quality of the TG gaming experience is enhanced when you pay attention and organize your squad into a force capable of repelling the enemy's tactics

Al Basrah is a work in progress. I hope more work is done to balance it, but without losing the new variety of gameplay it offers. A variety that makes the mod more interesting and fun.

You can probably buy a better one for almost nothing where you are right now.
