Yea I do remember the DPV now, it was beta only. Really old vid that, DPV is my fav ground vehicle. Great for carmegedon on jalalabad hence its usage is banned in the mapper guidelines I think I read

Yea I like that, I saw another video like that when 0.7 first came out.

They do reduce the quality from the original you upload, 58 meg original and about 12 meg hosted online.

I dont actually have a widescreen so Im kinda hacking that into place to be able to record it in the correct resolution. That probably reduces quality some due to stretching or something.
The codec I used was divx 3 I think vs your mpeg 4 xvid. So I'll see if I can use that next time, divx 6 wont read the fraps file


Another factor is the tint on the helicopter HUD partly matches the grey brown of the archer ground texture. High contrast equals clarity and quality.
That view loss factor actually applys in the game for me, try flying a Huey at 200alt on jabal and see how it feels. Its like flying in a sandstorm in terms of orientation.
Next test I'll look out the side hatch
