Re: Commanding tip's+ more.
I wasn't there but I'm not surprised you stepped up. When someone starts a thread to name and shame our best COs your name will be on the list. You always do an excellent job of things.

Re: Commanding tip's+ more.
One thing that cannot be stressed enough is the commander's ability and obligation to communicate with individual squads whenever possible. As a squad leader, it's almost impossible to manage a squad when there's constant chatter coming from the commander as well as from the squad, especially in intense combat situations.
In case you didn't know, the button a squad leader uses to communicate with squad members is the button you use to address individual squads that you select from the menu on the left in the commander interface. The button a squad leader uses to communicate with the commander is the button you use to address all squads at once.

Re: Commanding tip's+ more.
how to have SLs relay information to you?
sometimes you will just look at the map and see your squads not moving an inch - but when you ask, whats the hold off you get no reply - or "there is an apc" the fact that now only a few Kits can spot things/mark em on the map is a real draw back as CO - SLs often won't spot (not even put an estimate Tank marker on the map just so the whole team knows) as you can imagine giving orders based on wrong/missing information is fatal (as mentioned before urging SLs will only make them ignore you - it's still the internet xD) |

Re: Commanding tip's+ more.
Communication is a killer. I highly recommend you guys learn to use teamspeak like your lives depend on it. Spend a week on teamspeak and you'll learn what everyone's voice sounds like and you wont have to ask whos talking. A lot of us have very distinctive voices, for instance, I'm the one who sounds like a cracked-out 12 year old (even though i'm 26). But if you're going to command or SL, theres no better way to communicate. You can not only communicate directly with the CO, but you can also coordinate with other squads (or aircraft, or tanks, or whatever).
