Therefore, we're looking into other options. The leading option is that instead of two two-man teams, we will have three two-man teams in the hunt at the same time.

Stay tuned for more information...
Given that none of the teams will have any indicator of who the other players are, or which team they are with (they'll just see five nameless bodies running around), how about two three-man teams? I think this allows for more tactical manouverability and organisation.

That might work, but it may be that you need the cohesian of a 6-man squad as the 16 player maps ain't exactly small. Also remember that Apophis is a pretty good shot and finally he has that yellow streak kit. Hiding from 6 people isn't going to present a huge challenge for him. It's his speciality.

Not sure I'm following you here, Root...the initial post said that the 2 two-man teams were competing, so even with 6 players, you won't have "the cohesion of a 6-man squad", as whether it's 2 three-man teams or 3 two-man teams, they'll all be OpFor's anyway.

Or are you talking about inserting 2 full six-man squads?

Or do I have the wrong end of the stick?
Entirely possible...

Re: Training Mission: The Hunted

The original post has been updated.

Since we already have teams of two established, we're going to proceed with these teams. To deal with the size of the map, we will have three two-man teams participating in the same round. This will put the pressure on each team to locate the target.

Also added to the first post is the map selection process.

At this time we're closing down new entries so we can get this mission moving along.

This training mission will consist of three competing two-man squads who have to track down and eliminate a live target.
The rules (as I read them) are still not clear as to whether or not we can target the other teams...

I was just going to ask this myself. I'm pretty sure I read the rules through a couple of times, but it just didn't seem clear if we're allowed to kill the opposing team(s).

The two-man teams will play on the same faction during the round, while the target is on the other side. You should not target these "friendlies". You bring up a good point and we'll get the rules updated. There will most likely be a score penalty for killing someone other than the target.

Asch... can you update the original post?

I was suggesting 1 squad of 6 vs the guy with the big neon target above his head.

Re: Training Mission: The Hunted

When you state the target has no kit restrictions, will the server be set up so the "target" might possibly have one of the requestable kits, or does that just mean any of the "basic" kits?

Also: was it determined thru testing that 2 teams wouldnt be able to cover enough territory to take the target out, or is this just an assumption someone made?

The target does have the option to pick up specialty kits. The server has been modified to allow for this.

Yes, after some more testing of the maps it was determined that two teams could navigate the whole map w/o ever coming across the target. Between the cover, buildings, size, etc. the 16p maps are still rather large.

If the target can get their hands on a kit, they're free to use it.

Testing was done and involved a horrible sinking feeling when looking at one particular map in the context of 2 guys trying to hunt done 1 guy.

Re: Training Mission: The Hunted

Can I get each team to rank (1-most preferred.... 6-least preferred) the maps listed in the original post and PM them to me?

I'll be putting together the schedule today.
