Re: What would you like to see in v0.6?

PLEASE add more jungle maps. Ghost train is my personal favorite (although I guess I cant speak for everyone else). Much more enjoyable and tense fighting, as opposed to the wide open desert maps where you can see an enemy 300 meters away. Whole squads combing the forest for RP's and ambushes, so much fun... not even food will get me to quit when ghost train is on; so far any other map is just kinda "meh".

Yes agreed, really like to see a urban night map. Would also like to see that Smoke Arty that's in POE2 on a new map.

Teargas would be awesome IMO, though its probably a rip from SF, its just such a cool weapon.

And ofcourse nukes when the sirens go off!

I could be wrong, but I think that this is a BF2 engine issue as it happens in just about every flavor that I've played. I've found that the work around - not a solution - is to lobb a med pack at the corpse when that happens. This seems to reset something (don't know what) by moving the corpse around a bit. I suspect that the corpse's hit box or whatever somehow gets stuck under the terrain occasionally, which the med pack is somehow able to interact with and bring back to the surface. It's annoying, especially when under fire and even more so since PR medics don't have standard med packs to lob around indiscriminately like that, but there it is.

You see, the thing is, I really would like to play this mod and have fun when I do. It's got a lot going for it. But I just don’t have the time to sit around waiting through spawn times when I finally get the chance to sit down to enjoy a game of BF2. And I strongly suspect that I am not the only TGer to think so.

I always see people commenting about how such-and-such a map would be so much better if the server were full of TGers to play it through properly. *winks at the Al Basrah threads* Whenever I read comments like these, I think to myself, "Gee, you know, I’d really like to help out in that regard but I just can’t bring myself to do it." And indeed, where are all the other TGers then? Am I alone in my sentiments? Why would PR have any difficulty attracting a higher saturation of TG community members if there weren't something wrong about how the game itself, not just the maps, is played out?

The time constraints aren't my only gripe, but they are my main one and the only one that I positively cannot live with. So as often as I have an opportunity to raise the point, I'll be there to make it.

the spawn times are what set PR apart braide, without the longer spawn it would be too quick paced

Re: What would you like to see in v0.6?

Well, once again, it cones down to how one allots his discretionary time. On the one hand, I don't like the frenetic Zerg-fests that one sees in an ultra-fast pace but, on the other, I don't like sitting around either - an unavoidable certainty if you're like me and enjoy mixed-arms combat over infantry-only crawls. I can, and have, made a toasted fried egg sandwich during the interval of time between my death, my respawn, and the respawn of the asset I was interested in (specialty squad) at the time. To me, while that indeed sets PR apart from other venues, it doesn't do it in a good way. But because I like most of PR’s other aspects and genuinely want to play along side you folks, I would like to see that changed; hence, my contribution to this thread. I would hope that that is taken for what it’s worth and not treated by the mainstream in a "like it or lump it" sort of way.

Re: What would you like to see in v0.6?

braidedheadman: you would hate arma then, sometimes ive waited 30 minutes in between missions on evolution...

no one else seems to mind much though in arma, during some of those 30 minute waits, waiting with over 14 others, and only a few of them left, we just shoot the ****..... makes the next mission all the more intense and immersive cause theres so much downtime, it heightens the action quite a bit, cause you really get immersed into the game world where bullets arent flying constantly...

The shock paddels tend to work better when you aim for the crotch area.

Plus it's *slightly* amusing to get thanked after zapping someone in the jewels.

A way to turn off the automatic lock on of the supercobra would be usefull. At present it basically alerts the other heli whenever you are near and even when you are not.

Can we have weapons spawn as automatic, having them single shot promotes spawn killing as it makes you doubly unprepared

In reality, fights are not usually over in 30 minutes. They take hours and it's good that some of the maps in PR lead to this layer of reality along with all the changes to weapons and vehicles.

How about some Twilight city maps? not just full night, but early eveing, just as the street lamps are coming on with those Twilight confusing shadows.

Re: What would you like to see in v0.6?

1) I dont know the correct term in English, but wire-triggerd "alarm-mines" would be somewhat cool. Would basically work the same way as deploying claymores in vBF or Poe but with the difference that you have to place it between two points (and the wire going between those two). If an enemy, or freindly, then run into the wire a small detonation (firecracker) along with with a flash goes off alerting people around that someone has triggered it, but without killing that "someone".

It would of course only be available for one kit, but it could leave room for some nice defensive measures when squads are defending certain locations.

2) Increase the visuals on the vehicle-mounted MG and have the zoom basically have the gunner looking down the barrel, but with a decrease field of vision as a whole. True, if one practice one will get the hang of the accuracy, but I very rarely see anyone use the vehicle-mounted MG and perhaps the reason for that can be that they are too difficult to master?

3) As said before, more djungle-maps and atleast one urban-map (Red Dawn-like imo) would be nice.
