Re: What type of reality mod player are you?

I chose Simulation and Realism because by definition it should include teamwork and maturity.

Re: What type of reality mod player are you?

Teamwork for me. And as ednos said, I think that comes along with maturity.

As for 'realism' I tink PR is much, much closer than BF2v but obviously unless we all strap 12 gauge shotguns to our PC screens that will blow our real life heads off when we get killed in game we're never going to get anywhere near realism, and this needs to be understood by the people who try to get people banned if they bunny hop etc.

However IMO this Mod is what EA should of made BF2v like in the first place.

Re: What type of reality mod player are you?

For online games like PR I'm definitely a Teamwork type of player. I enjoy the comradery. When I play single player games I'm all about the immersion.

Um, I think everyone is aware of that, it's more the extent of realism (or realish-ism?) that is able to be offered by the mod (called Project Reality, not Project Elmer Fudd). That's not even mentioning the TG rules/SoPs of course.

Yeah thats what I was trying to say really, I just worded it very badly haha. I think PR has done a good job making people 'care' for thier virtual life and enforceing teamwork, specially with spawns taking longer everytime you die and the lenghtly walks on maps like AlBarash etc.

I agree with troublesome, I play singleplayer games (FEAR, HL2 etc) for immersion but for multiplayer I love the teamplay and maturity of the TG PR server and the people who frequent it.

Re: What type of reality mod player are you?

Teamwork, Teamwork, Teamwork!!!

I almost said "win at all costs" because I REALLY hate losing, but you need Teamwork to win and that is why I chose this. I too have to agree with Troublesome4u...I LOVE the comradery, I have met and played with some really cool people that I would love to have a beer with if I ever met them. I get really into the games that I play here, and I think that is starting to become a downfall for me

The people you play with make the game, not the game itself!

Re: What type of reality mod player are you?

Maybe I regret it, but I appear to be the only person who picked "win at all cost" so far. I like competition, but the reason to compete is to attempt to win so I consider them the same. The competition drives the emmersion, realism, teamwork, etc for me. (and since I play nearly every night, I hardly qualify as a casual gamer)

I am assuming that "winning at all cost" does not mean violating either TG house rules or the spirit of those rules. ( Unless this was some elaborate trap to weed out the rift-raft)

I am a COMPLETE team player, but I had to ask myself "would I obey a squad/commander leader order which I knew for a fact would lose the game for the team?" Assuming one could have that much clarity, I would have to say, no, which would be my answer in real life situations as well.

Also, I think the question is either phrased wrong, or is being read wrong. Alot of the posts deal with "why they play the game" not "what type of player they are." I play this mod because of the teamwork, but the type of player I am strives to win.

The problem is, in real life situations you can not just say "um, no, youre going to loose this for our team so Im not going to follow your orders."

I am more of a Sim player I would say. Call it past experiences but thats how I play.

At my workplace I call it "East German borderguard syndrome" (perhaps I am dating myself!) Obviously, my workplace is not a battlefield, but I have always maintained that I am paid/respected for what I bring to the table, not in how fast I respond to a command. The game is similiar, though it rarely occurs in game because it is seldom that you are in a position to know what exactly is going on and/or the choices are not as clear cut.

Ha, Donagel, concerning your concerns about a trap...
The whole poll is indeed so obviously a trap, designed not to weed out riff-raff, but the Hard-of-Reading... The red-text quote from the TG primer, contained in Asch's sig in his every post, clearly tells us which way we better vote, lol, and those of us that already screwed it up, well, our days are numbered...
Future voters, save yourselves!

Re: What type of reality mod player are you?

I play for the people. I like TG because they enforce rules, have a great server and are active in listening to their players.

I play PR for the pacing. Its slow enough that ambushes, flanking and defending are fun, rewarding events in the game. I'm not all about realism, but I do like my games to have a "authentic" feel to them. As long at the weapons "feel" like they are acting in the way I expect them too. Really I play it because it rewards those who think and work as a team, while it punishes people how just charge out into battle without a plan.

Re: What type of reality mod player are you?

My goal is more simple, I want to have a good time during the few hours I play a week. The main ingridents for me is a sprinkle of realism and then add a large dose of maturity and finally mix in a lot of teamplay.

Please rethink your statement; this is a logical fallacy. I hope you recall the following:

Folks.... let's keep the discussion to a minimum. We're just trying to easily capture and read what types of players we have here.
