Re: What type of reality mod player are you?
Last year when I put my vote in I chose win at all costs.
By that I mean that I will occasionally sacrifice one squad, or a few squad mates...at least for a few minutes to win the match or complete an objective....here is a perfect example.
A few nights ago I joined the server for the first time in about 3 weeks. The map that was playing was Al Kufrah, and I only caught the last 60 seconds of the round. We lost ~275-0 as the British. So before the round was over, I joined up as commander and let everybody know that I would be commanding the next round and that I expected a everybody to follow orders, regardless of how the round was going.
Qwai was the next map, and we were Chinese. We took Fishing and held a strong D there, but our forces got spread thin, our tanks got taken out, and Fishing Village was neutralized. I ordered EVERYBODY to be at Estate (where I currently had a squad clearing out a USMC squad that had the flag prepped) ASAP, preferably within 2 minutes....exept squad 4. They were a 4 man squad, and I ordered them to stay behind and slow the flag capture as best as they could.
Sure enough, they got slaughtered wave after wave. But we all got to Fishing Village, we lost Temple, and we had a rock solid defense. After I felt that the US team had grown bored from attacking our impenatrable fortress I ordered an attack from the North and West on temple, and had a squad on the way to Fishing.
We won the round ~50-0.
I believe squad 4 was what let us regroup for the defense during the round. Every squad played a pivital role, but my win at all costs mentality payed off...as it usually does.

I'm a casual gamer who prefers to win...however, some people do tend to take this game too seriously for my tastes.

Re: What type of reality mod player are you?
Other. Kinda a mix of all of the options except the 'must win' option. I like the teamwork, the mature environment, the realism, solid competition is nice (I like to be challenged when gaming), and I also like PR at TG because it's fun (and that's what gaming is all about, right?).
Edit: And wow, I thought I was a necromancer! That's a mega-thread-rez!
*Clear* You're all right, now get back in the fight!

Re: What type of reality mod player are you?
I am a fan of teamwork, teamwork, teamwork. Though I do i do have a side of me that likes to immerse myself in the map, but i will gladly forfeit that role for the common good and take a SL or commander position.
However, i haven't used the m6 AAV in a long time and hope that i can before .8 is released, though right now i am happy doing the grunt/commanding work and trying to help my team, even if we are on the losing end of the battle to succeed in getting some kills, capping some flags, or taking out a FB or bunker that has been a needle in our thigh.
Being in a squad solely for an asset isn't one i like to be apart of, to me, especially on certain maps it is more non-useful than useful, i also don't tend to lock my squads, i feel that if i am going to use a TOW with permission if there is a commander, I can have a full squad, with a RP 2/3 engineers with the tow and still be effective with grunts on the ground.....but that's just me.
Teamwork, Teamwork, Teamwork!!

Sacrifice the lives of a few to save the lives of many.
I do play for the Win, but I don't mind losing if its a close game ( 50 tickets or less is usually a hard fought battle )

Re: What type of reality mod player are you?
I've just started playing again, gone since about .4 I think and it's about realism.
In real life, you want to win at all costs and since losing means death there is a fair amount of competition involved.
I'll play medic even though I hate it because that is the only untaken basic kit the squad needs and to me, that is win at all costs because medics win the game when it is close.
Teamwork is a given, why else would you play PR if not for the teamwork, the random grouping of blue guys that works together during an attack or a retreat, it is what makes this game so addicting.
