It moved to younger people too, from the +18 with car job and money for drugs to the 12-18 range (wild estimate). I find it really remarkable that this sort of thing happened. I also think the youth aren't aware of the roots of the movement as I described, but they seem to think they invented something new (people always get fooled by new words like "jumpen"). Perhaps the same thing once happened to rock and roll which was once too an undercurrent of society associated with illegal behaviour. I wonder what these kids will do when they do start going out...

That dance is old as the hills. It was originaly know as "the curly shuffle".
