Re: Too many maps...solution?

Great thread. Good to see conversation rolling on this topic. It seems whenever I join the server its running the same few maps due to server reboot, or lengthy map durations. It would be great to see some additional maps in rotation. I would be ecstatic to see a PR map-pack, although in reality I do not see this happening anytime soon.

Re: Too many maps...solution?

Currently we are running all the maps except Street and Bi Ming. There are 17 maps in play.

Re: Too many maps...solution?

I can only add the maps that are included with 0.6xx. To play the maps you listed I would have to revert the server to 0.5 or have someone update the maps to reflect the gameplay changes made in the newer version.

Re: Too many maps...solution?

It's true, nearly all the maps are in rotation. Not sure why the dev's removed the maps aside from them being "unrealistic". Better to have something than nothing IMO

Re: Too many maps...solution?

some maps should just be laid to rest already ffs :P

Steel Thunder has many reasons it was removed, but largest of all was the grass draw distance and the CP layout not being so great.... Hfett did audit it but it reemains to be seen if it will be added back in.

Inishail Forest...... needs alot of work.

Any others??? None that I can think of that really were that interesting to play... can you think of any others?

wait till you see the new maps you guys are gonna freak hehhee

Muttrah City 2
Operation Barracuda
Fools Road
Battle for Qinling
Operation Archer
Devils Tower

and maybe Wake Island 8KM

yea, maps for PR are looking prety damn sweet

Yeah damnit, now I won't be able to sleep the next few months .

I always enjoyed Inishail, not sure what was wrong with it. Mao Valley and Steel Thunder were two other maps I loved, even though they had some issues, I always had fun playing them.

To be honest, I think Helmand is worse than all the above... for some reason I always get to play as an insurgent and because there 's always a noob ready to drive the cars behind enemy lines, Brits ALWAYS win.

I haven't been on enough lately so I can't really give an opinion on this matter, but when I do play, I seem to play the same maps over and over.

Yesterday insurgents destroyed the Brits by about 200 - 0. Apparently the noobs were on the other side shooting civilians.

Re: Too many maps...solution?

I haven't played Helmand on 6.1, but it used to be that the Brits really had to bring their A game to win unless the Insurgents were off monging it and driving spawn cars into ditches etc..

Re: Too many maps...solution?

I would be all for some new rotations. The same ones are getting predictable...

Are there admin options like there were in BF2 original mod to set things differently? I mean, can the admins make the out of balance maps more in balance by restricting resources or setting different objectives than the original ones?

Re: Too many maps...solution?

Doesn't PR frown on server and map configuration changes.. I remember reading something about them holding the server client hostage unless you sign a waiver -.-

Lets get Karkand on PR.. that was a great map!
