It 's a great change in gameplay, I love em.
See, to me, this clearly illustrates the total failure of the system. You are no longer a non-combatant doing things of this nature and thus you are open game to be shot, knifed, whatever.

Re: Project Reality Player's Guide

yea that map is a complete joke now... i mean it was prety fun but not much in the spirit of realistic gaming heheh

if you only want realistic gaming occuring, this map should be removed.

but its also a good comedy map after a long round of kashan...

Haha, so that's what happened when they finally got through the gate! And then proceeded to mow down another dozen Civvies on their way through the valley! The USMC count was swinging back and forth some 80 tickets at a time!

Re: Project Reality Player's Guide

One bug that i know was in the beta that I havn't tried in the 0.6, was that the civ was abble to destoy US spawn points by troing roocks at it.

is this still working?
is it ok to do?

maybe we have to make som rules about the civ here on tg :S

Re: Project Reality Player's Guide

If thats the desert storm map then usmc won that when we played it. The civilians mean you have to conquer with infantary not just barge past with brute force, apcs, artillery, etc

Re: Project Reality Player's Guide

The round I played on Desert Storm (if that 's the name) ended with an admin changing map before US got to Bunker Facility. Tickets were going up in stead of down for both teams...

It was also pretty funny how they tried to protect the insurgents by standing in front of them, yet failed miserably thanks to the excellent SA80's accuracy. I had a few kills between the legs of civvies. Thumbs up on civvies.
I think I was there :P They threw rocks at us and then we rammed the buildings down :P Muahhaha

It makes it a lot more realistic. Todays combat zones aren't a conventional battle. You don't know who is enemy and who is not.

Re: Project Reality Player's Guide

I dont really care if DS is realistic, but it makes for one hell of a round and can be a blast on both sides.

Re: Project Reality Player's Guide

If you want a good example of civs go watch BHD :P
Anyways I think civs are both good and bad, most of the time they don't make much if any difference to the battle because most people don't know how to use them, which i guess makes the enemy have an advantage, but a lot of people don't know they can't shoot civs either but thats their fault they don't know. I think civs should be replaced with suicide bombers though, they can jump off a cliff above the enemy and land on them with a big explosion, it's not like there aren't suicide bombers. Anyways back with the civs. The civs should make a more noticeable difference, they should cause HEAVY ticket loss for the team that shot them but no penalty other than really long respawn time and 1 ticket lost to the insurgents and the team that knifed them gets info about spawn car locations and other things etc... the team that knifed them should not get tickets though because it's not like they add more people to their army. civs should be able to setup roadblocks and such but shouldn't be able to run (sprint) for very long due to them not having to go through military training.

Re: Project Reality Player's Guide

I have no problem with the Civilans consept but what bothers me is that people who dont know how to play them can ruin the gaime for the rest of uss. I have had games where we where outfighting the Britz easy but on Civ kept running at them with stone and geting knifed over and over again.

We need som restriction to stop noobs from playing them.

Re: Project Reality Player's Guide

They get a massive spawn time for that allready and anybody who can count should understand that concept. Im not sure if it could be modded upwards prehaps, its allready 90 seconds?
