Re: Negative Scoring Kick
Well considereing I was the guinea pig for placing the C4 the other night.... Getting kicked for killing civilians is just plain silly, especially when it was not intended. They were just collateral damage! If you do not blow the gate and decide to stalemate the map, the map will take four hours. How fun is that? Gahalas, not all of us are forward thinking charge at all costs type of players. But sometimes we have to do what the CO and SL wants and if that means blowing the door, then roger that. There is no other way for that map to be played...yes we all know there is an end around. But lets be honest it is much more fun blowing stuff up....although it is good to be sneaky
Plain and simple it is an issue that can ruin a game, not too mention someones night by having to wait two minutes everytime they are kicked. These are some of the reasons people have stopped playing this mod. Just my two horns worth. B

Re: Negative Scoring Kick
Theres one way around through the hills above. However, there is no cover, its extremely difficult to get vehicles through (forget trying to take a command truck) and theres no way to climb over the gate itself. Essentially, you HAVE to blow the gate to get troops through. It is, however, scalable from the insurgents side.

? ![]() Resulting in this: ![]() It wouldn't be fair to make a rule saying civilians should stay clear of the gate. They have shovels so they need to repair it. US needs to use the other passage, clear the choke point and then blow the gate. I 've seen this happen tons of times... US have better weapons, ability to revive, RP 's, APC 's,... the only way for insurgents to win this map, is by using kamikaze tactics. Quote:

Re: Negative Scoring Kick
You can't play the insurgents like you would a conventional army...no body armour,so a shoot out is out of the question when you have equal or less fire power. No medical personel that are armed with anything exept rocks, and the civilians can't revive. AT is rare to have,so if enemy armoured vehicles roll up you have to get creative...and even then, one RPG (unless placed perfect,ie disabling turret or tracks) will only take out light vehicles such as trucks and jeeps. To win,you have to trick the 'infidels' and get them into an ambush.....which is an art, effectively forcing you to learn a new gaming style when you play as insurgents.
Desert Storm and its gate take away from this. They should of kept the MEC as the defending team. |

Re: Negative Scoring Kick
Ive seen USA win several times on that map.
In the two screenshots, if Im making out the score correctly the insurgents didnt really gain many points there? 30 I think Pretty sure its off the rotation now anyhow Theres no AAS maps including civilians now which imo is a pity |
